By 1860 he had moved to Cumberland Co., KY where I believe he married Susan A. Walker in approx. 1867. Susan A. Walker was b.15 Aug 1844 in Rhea Co., TN. Sometime between 1873 & 1876 they arrived in the Mountain Township of Barry Co, MO. By 1900 they were recorded as living in the Jenkins Township of Barry County. They both lived to be approximately 94-95 years old. William Oscar d.29 July 1938 and Susan A. Akin d.22 Oct 1939. They are both buried in the lovely Leann Cemetery. They had 8 children: 1. Through my research into the Akin family I have had some help. It has been difficult finding information and pictures on them, but those who have helped me are: Donna Cooper, Bonnie Merck, Joan Viney, and Amy Lewarne. Bonnie Merck sent me the wonderful professional picture of William Oscar Akin and Susan A. (Walker) Akin, Joan Viney had lots of pictures on the family of Emmet Lee Akin, and Amy Lewarne sent me pictures of the William Fred Akin family. Thanks to everyone. If others are familiar with the Akin Family, I am very interested in pictures, plus I would love to have directions to their old house place which I visited many years ago and don't believe I could find again today. The house is no longer their, but the rock foundation was there last I visited and perhaps the people who own the property may remember back around 1984 when we spoke to them, asking permission to come onto their property to look at the old house site.
