Marilyn, I don't have anything but am going to send you message to the mailing list because I think we have someone researching those names. List Readers, do we have someone who can help Marilyn with her puzzle? If so write to her directly, because I don't think she is on the mailing list. Cooper > > >Good afternoon Ms. Cooper: > >My name is Marilyn Greganti. My mother was adopted on December 13, 1930. She was born on November 26, 1930. She died on January 2, 2002. Shortly after her death we found a copy of her birth certificate. Her biological father was listed as Sanford D. Cooper, as far as we can decipher, on the Oklahoma City Health Department certificate of birth. It listed his birthplace as Cassville, Missouri. It said his age on last birthday was 35. We believe that may not be correct. We have found two other documents on Ancestry.com. On his military registration which was dated September 12, 1918 his birth was listed as September 10, 1897 and his address then as 1110 E. Bond, Monett, Barry County, Missouri. > >There was also a marriage certificate to Ora Lee Shultz dated July 1, 1920 in Carthage, Jasper, Missouri. Except for these documents we cannot find any other information under the name Sanford Cooper. > >In the 1930 Census of Pawhuska, Osage, Oklahoma my mother's biological mother, Sanford's wife, was listed as Ora Lee Cooper, widowed. Now Ora Lee Cooper was married once before at age seventeen and she was the Ora Lee Shultz. We believe she was widowed sometime after her first marriage but do not know about Sanford. We have no documentation of death. We know they were married but we are curious about him being listed on the birth certificate. Sanford and Ora were married in 1920, my mother was born in 1930. So since she was listed as a widow in the 1930 Census for my mother to have been born on November 26, 1930 she would have been conceived around the end of February or early March of 1930. That would mean Sanford had to be alive or she became pregnant by someone else and just named Sanford as the father. My sister and I are finding much information on our biological grandmother Ora Lee but nothing else on Sanford. If you would be able to point us in some direction that would produce some results that would be wonderful. I welcome any help you can offer. We are just trying to find family and history so we can get some questions answered. > >Thank you, > >Mrs. Marilyn Greganti >5952 Brice Cove North >Olive Branch, MS 38654 > > >
