    3. I see we have a problem - but will fix it. Thanks, Janice. List Readers, be sure and read Janice's note. Pleasant View was sometimes called Jackett as it was in the Jackett community. >Mt. Pleasant was in the Buzzard Glory communiity and went by that name some but they were 2 different schools. The picture with Helen Catron in it is Mt. Pleasant (Buzzard Glory) Kay Henry and Martha Sue Morgan are also in that picture. I don't know who all those kids are but when I have a chance I will see if Kay knows. She said to tell you hello and call her sometime. She lives in Grandview, just a hop skip from me. I hope I am making this clear. I am wondering if my school Pleasant View started going by Jackett after we were consolidated into Southwest...don't know. > >

    3. List Readers, Betty Higgs Lamberson added three really nice photos for the Alex Roberts family. Alex was her great-great grandfather and he is buried in Chitwood Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/robertsFamily.htm Janice Patterson Jones added several photos for Pleasant View School, in other words Jacket. That school was called Buzzard Glory, Jacket, Pleasant View and occasionally Mt. Pleasant. It was in McDonald County but when the R-V schools consolidated in 1954 it was taken in as a part of the Washburn - Seligman District and then kids went to school in Barry County. Janice submitted 1936-1937 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Pleasant-View/1936PleasantView.htm 1938-1939 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Pleasant-View/1938-39PleasantView.htm 1939 -1940 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Pleasant-View/1939-40PleasantView.htm 1955 - we have a yearbook copy of this one. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Pleasant-View/1955PleasantView2.htm I was going to save one of these back for our featured photo but decided to go ahead and show all of them to you now. So that means that I still will have to find one for the featured photo. If you have one that you want me to feature send it before evening. When you think about the old school pictures that people have boxed up somewhere that could be shared it makes you wonder why they don't scan them and get them on the web. It means so much to folks when they find a photo of a parent or grandparent as a kid in school. To me and to a lot of you, too, that is a family treasure that can't be replaced by money or anything else. Thanks so much Janice and Betty. Great photos!!! If you are following along on our home construction, we have men on the roof today. Donna Cooper

    3. List Readers, I am still knee deep in home construction, but sneaked away from my work to do some web work. I have some school photos that came in that I will post later today or tomorrow. Tony Martin sent us a couple of nice photos for the Catron family. These are photos from his personal collection of family photos. Lula Eythel (Catron) (Hashagen) Cress - died in Idaho - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/catronLula.htm William Isham Catron - he was a deaf mute, hearing impaired man - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/catronWilliamIsham.htm Gary Ball did some reconstruction work on some old ones we have on the site. They were submitted by Connie Schmidit and Tony Martin. The ones he worked on are for - Francis Ellis and family. Really nice difference in this one - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/ellisFrancisFam.htm Abe and Josie Eubanks http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/eubanksAbeJosieFamily.htm Minnie (Stockton) Fare http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/fareMinnieStockton.htm Doc and Minnie (Stockton) Fare http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/fareDoctorFranklinMinnie.htm George Woodhouse and children - interesting color discovery on this one - Thanks to all who helped with today's new additions, to Gary Ball, Tony Martin and Connie Schmidt. 3. It was just a paper photo - maybe a page from a book or a printed picture that someone pasted where the flue had been. 3. Ruth, thanks for writing. Please post in the cemetery temporary folder the details and why you think that your person is buried in Maddy. The temporary folder is there on the main cemetery page for your convenience and is easy to use. Please understand that I get so much mail that I can not accurately keep you with submissions coming into my e-mail box. I am going to send this to the list mail readers and see if any of them might have information that could help. So far I can't even find out when she died, but anyway, Jack came out there and found a grave with a female buried next to him. I am sure this is Ann but have no way to verify it. There is no headstone. I am so grateful to Jack for meeting me and taking the time to use his rods. It was so exciting and interesting watching him.  >I just wanted to share this with you.. 3. Good morning, I dug out from under a pile of plaster and lats this morning to do web pages. I have to pass this story on before I tell you about the new additions. There was a huge crock like flue in the bedroom under the plaster and so we took it out. We found out that it went nowhere and that it wasn't connected to a chimney , but at the back of it, next to the stair wall to the basement was a Victorian picture of a woman. When we took the overhead lats down we found a 1900 Ford Seed catalog, a leather money pouch - empty of course, and several math papers of the Parrish children - whoever they were. Now for Barry County - we have a stack of photos on hands to do. Gary Ball's restored photos are the ones that I began with early this morning. Connie Schmidt submitted these and Gary restored them - Stockton, Hemphill and Calton, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/stocktonHemphill.htm Norman Stockton and Retta Ross, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/stocktonNormanRettaRoss.htm Odie and Ira Stockton, twins. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/stocktonOdieIra.htm Tony Martin submitted these and Gary resorted them - Efton Ellis, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/ellisEftonF.htm Ben Ellis' Sons, http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/ellisBensSons.htm Alfred and Opal (Nelson) Ellis http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/ellisAlfredOpal.htm Thanks to Gary Ball for the great work he does and to Tony Martin and Connie Schmidt for these new additions. 3. Richard, We have a book page on the web site. You might go over it and see if there is anything there that you want to buy. The Goodspeed Reprint was done by the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society. That is a good reference. I think it is still in print. You can contact them through the link we have for the page we have for them on our web site. All these links are on our front page so you shouldn't have any difficulty accessing them.  Also, I will send your message to the list readers - maybe some of them will have suggestions. 3. List Readers, could someone using IncredMail help Jane Foley set her e-mail program so that she can post in plain text? CC: Jane, I have seen three of your messages so far that wouldn't post. They all had pictures of some sort of graphics of children bouncing up and down on the bottom of the message. Those messages wouldn't post because they were not sent in plain text. What it means is that they have html code on them when they have graphic pictures like that which indicates that they were probably written in rich text. Look at the options to send mail and you will see where you can't find where to select plain text. I also sent a message to the list readers hoping someone can help you with the problem since I remember you told some time back that you couldn't find that option. Donna Cooper

    3. List Readers, It was me that you saw down on my knees asking the good weather maker to give us a cooler day. I think it might have worked - we'll see. As for our featured photo I am using the Worley Jackson Catron one that Tony Martin shared with us and that Gary Ball worked on. We had a couple of post with additional information that I added to the page by Phyllis Long and Nancy Wickam. I figured since this is such a unique photo that you'd enjoy the notes and the work that our researchers did on it. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Many thanks to all who helped on it. We are knee deep in old plaster and house construction. Let's hope that this shall pass - and that things will get back to normal soon. Have a good Sunday. Donna Cooper

I will get more posted as soon as I can get on top of this mess here on the home front. Hang in there with me and I'll be back at the key board soon. Donna Cooper
