List Readers, I am behind - way behind on posting. I have been stapling installation in the old part of our construction. Believe me that I would rather be doing this!!! If you sent something and I have responded or put it on the web, hang in there with me, I'll get it on as soon as I can. Today, I posted for Purdy Cemetery, that Phyllis Long posted for us. Donna Lea (Read) Roberts http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/purdy/purdy.htm For Oakdale Cemetery - Phyllis Long submitted William Terry Fuldner, Shirley (Banks) Claybough Earl B. Jeffries Lonnie Ray Dunn http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/oakdale/oakdaleIndex.htm And then on the WW II page, I posted a photo of Charles Kackey that Rick sent. Rick didn't give us his last name - and so we could use that information to complete the post. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/WWII/kl.htm And David Weston sent a restored photo of Adda Morris Prunkard. I think Gary Ball sent this one, too. I will have to check to be sure, because I have several from him that I have not posted yet. Sandra Sorensen submitted this one. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/morrisAdda.htm Gordon Gray sent an updated list of students for Central at Monett. That is a photo that Ted Roller submitted some time back and he had most of the names but not all. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Monett/Central/1948-49Central.htm Thanks to helpers David Weston, Phyllis Long, Sandra Sorensen, Rick, and Gordon Gray. List readers, I am trying to do a little bit of web work today. I have been knee deep in old house construction for the last few days. I have some photos and other things to post. Phyllis Long finished working on the T page of Washburn Prairie.Nice work, Phyllis. Thanks. Gordon Gray sent us a listing of Central School for 1948-1949 - students in the photo that Ted Roller shared with us. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Monett/Central/1948-49Central.htm Donna Cooper

Phil, have you looked at the cemeteries around Washburn that we have on the web site? This came to me and not to the list mail address. You will need to subscribe - if you haven't already to get list mail. I am sending this to the list readers, maybe some of them will have the answer you are looking for on your Harp family. Good Morning, we have a featured photo that is a group of tin types that came from Sandra Sorensen. I ran all of them, because I thought that they might be related to each other. Sandra has the name of Lois Morris a sister to Adda Morris for one of them. Do we have any Morris researchers out there that possibly might know if these are Morris photos or not? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Thanks so much Sandra! Enjoy the day and the weather. Donna Cooper

List Readers, this tin type photo was restored by Gary Ball. It is of Caroline and Sarah Frances Smith. Sarah married George Long and was my great-great grandmother. Her sister Caroline was Ted Roller's great-great grandmother. The photo was taken about 1857 or 1858. There was another tin type with this one, I assume that was taken of some of the Smith family. Here is what I have posted - Caroline Coleman Smith and her little sister Sarah Frances "Fanny" Smith. Caroline was born Jan 1, 1846 and Sarah "Fanny" was born Oct 10, 1852. Caroline married Greenberry Roden and Sarah Frances married George Long. Sarah and George were my great-great grandparents and they are buried in Corsicana Cemetery. Caroline and Sarah were daughters of Giles Ira and Sarah (Singleton) Smith. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/smithgirls.htm Thanks, Gary. Donna Cooper
List Readers, here are some more photos. I still have several more to post that I will work on later in the day. Beth Brown sent us two photos of the Solomon family. I am glad to see these come in and know you will enjoy them, too. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-4/solomonFamily.htm Tony Martin sent us a couple of photos for the Herbert and Yuonne Cleo (Lawson) Susott family. Herbert was a pilot and they both died in Tulsa where they lived, but Yuonne was born in Barry County. Gary Ball sent a large file of old photo repairs. I am working on these new ones plus still have some others from former submissions to post. Some of these are taking a long time to do because they are posted on old font page format pages and I have to redo the page before I can post the photo. Anyway, regardless of that problem, I am so glad to get them and know that you are, too. As usual you will see excellent work in these that I am posting now. The one I just did is for Doc Alsbrooks that Mitch Mitchell posted many moons ago. Robert sent us a message that reads: This could possibly be Doctor Alfred M. Alsbrooks, served in civil war for conferderacy as a surgeon. Acccording to Greene Co., MO records that a Alfred M. Allsbrook register to practice physician / surgeon Dec 18, 1880. He graduated from Shelby Medical College, Nashville, TN, in Feb. 18, 1861. He married a Annie M. Nicolet April 26, 1881. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Alsbrooks1.htm Thanks to Gary Ball for his good work and to submitters Beth Brown and Tony Martin we have these great photos to view. Appropriate that you ran this photo at this time. Lorena (Carter) Ball's visitation is tonight with funeral tomorrow. ----- Original Message ----- From: Donna Cooper To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, August 08, 2011 3:19 PM Subject: [MOBARRY] New List Readers, I have some new photos to post but today has been a fixer upper day! I have been working on old pages and adding some restored photos that had old font code pages. This one is a photo that Georgia Ball Farwell Hart sent us and that Gary Ball restored. My computer took a case of crankiness and gave me a blue screen and then shut down in the middle of a page I was redoing, and so I lost some of the notes that went with this page. It did an overwrite on the page, so it took out the original text. My apologies to all concerned and want to say if you have something that I can add just send it to me and I will be most happy to fix it. I love the sunbonnets in this one. It is an old photo winner! Every time I look at it I think of how special it was that these people had a photo taken of their picnic. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/cordellfam3.htm Wilson Lane and a hunting buddy also Wilson and his wife Eliza Long Lane. Ted Roller told me he owns the old Wilson Lane farm. I am so impressed that I now know where the Lane family lived. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photoalbum2/lanewilson1.htm I redid all the Lane pages except one and I think I have the restored photo for it - one Gary sent today. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/index-l.htm Stan McKay sent us George and Elmira (Hadley) McComas' photos and Gary Ball restored them. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/McComas.htm Thanks to Gary Ball for all his work on these and to those that submitted and shared with us. I am enjoying the drop in temperature and the nice rains we had. We are still plugging away on restoring our old the house. This morning we ordered special made school house windows to replace the old ones in our bedroom. We keep finding things as we beat around on these old 115 year old walls. While we were working on the bedroom a few days ago, we found a small wood sign that reads: DOUBLE COG WHEELS ROLLS VULCANIZED ON THE SHAFTS. I will try and post some more photos and do some more web page repair later today. Oh, I must say, too. Phyllis Long is working on Washburn Prairie Cemetery and restoring that one for us. You will remember that she is the one who found Elvis Presley's great grandfather mixed in our data. Today she noticed that we had a Solley listed in Cargile and Washburn Prairie. List readers, our thanks to Janel Foss who sent us our featured photo for the week. She said when she was looking for Elvis Presley's great-grandfather's stone on the Washburn Prairie page she saw the name that went with one of her photos. Here is what she said about the photo - Pictured are Dorothy McCormack and (possibly her sister) Harriet "Hattie" Ellen (McCormack) Nodine. Hattie is buried in Washburn Prairie Cemetery. I don't know where Dorothy is buried. The back of the photo reads "Aunt Agnee's sister Dorothy McCormack and Hattie Nodine." They would most likely be related to my Stephens side of the family. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Donna Cooper
You, too. Thanks, I appreciate the updated information. Donna On Sat, Aug 6, 2011 at 2:53 PM, Margaret Montgomery <margaretm82@att.net> wrote: > Dear Donna, My e-mail address is Margaretm82@att.net. Hope you are well > land having a great summer. MM
List Readers, okay, here I am dirty, covered with sandy plaster dust at lunch time. I couldn't contain myself, I had to share some of Gary Ball's restored photos with you right this minute. lol. I do have some more from him that I will try and do later today. These are all of the Robbins family and were submitted by Norman Smith. I think we need an updated e-mail link for him so if you have one, please direct mail me with it and I'll add it to his pages. On this one check out the flowers - isn't this a fabulous photo? All of you old timers know that Memorial Day Daises bloom the last of May so you can date this photo May or June of 1906. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Robbins1906.htm This one is the John Harvey Robbins family. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Robbins1.htm This one is also of some of the members of John Harvey Robbins' family. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Robbins2.htm And in this one look at the bare feet.it was taken in 1893. Isn't this a priceless family photo? http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Robbins1893.htm This one was taken in 1916 - another priceless photo - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/Robbins1916.htm I get envious of people who have photos like this posted of their families. We have had these on the site since 1999 and so I worked on the old pages, bringing them up to date with new code. Hope you enjoy Gary Ball's excellent work. I have some more that he did that I will try and work on this evening. I also have some new photos to post that came in yesterday from Tony Martin. Thanks to all who help make Barry County a really great research site on GenWeb. Hang in there, I'll get the others posted soon. Donna Cooper
