Donna This is no big deal. V. A. "Auzzie" Davidson was my first cousin. His place of birth is shown as Fairview, Lawrence Co. Fairview is actually in Newton Co., not Lawrence. Ruth
List Readers: In the early days of British history, the ceremony of christening an English ship was usually performed by a member of the Royal Family and a male, but sometimes by a dockyard commissioner - but again a male did the job. In 1811 King George IV introduced the first lady to sponsor the christening. Well, to me that is good news because I am a lady and I just christened one big project - Monett IOOF. This oversized burial ground has been christened with about 20 new entires on the web - and she is off and sailing now. I have prepared the first 996 photos for posting from what I will call Folder 1. As we speak the first 200 of them are on the web and I have begun posting from them. Look at it like this - there are only 5,000 more to go! http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/monett/monett.htm I expect it will take me about 5 months to post it all. And again, thanks to Jay Trace, for this huge piece of work. Donna Cooper

List Readers: These days are busy days, but the good news is that I am getting closer to being able to start working on Monett IOOF. In the past 3 or 4 days, these are the cemeteries that I've added something to or made changes in the data that we already had posted. Information from obituaries or from death certificates was added in most cases. Several of these had new photos or information from funeral home records that was added from Jay Trace's submissions. I have already told you about those but have them on the list, too. Also Phyllis Long had 17 pages of data for Maplewood but I told you about those yesterday. Bethel Baptist, Beaver, Lake Park, Maplewood, Clay Hill, Concord, Corinth, Seligman, Osa, Goodnight, Cargile, Potter, Clio, Old Stubblefield, Waldensian, Longview, Oak Hill, Ennis, Purdy, Mineral Springs, Phillips, Calton, Hilton, Mars Hill, Leann, Carney, Sparks, Horner. When writing about a change or addition that you want me to see, please send me a link to the page you are talking about. Most of you already do that - and, by the way, it does help a lot. Keep up the good work! Donna Cooper
List Readers: Here is a page on the Bayless House project that the Barry County Genealogical and Historical Society is restoring for the use of a library and study area of genealogy and history. When it is finished they will restore it with period furniture and add books and historical records. It is a beautiful historical home that will soon be put to good use. Our thanks to Darla Marbut who did the story and took the photos and Georgia Farwell, president of the society, who helped with the information. I hope that you will really enjoy it as much as I did. Here is the link. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/barrycogen/bayless.htm A big thanks to both Georgia and Darla for sharing with us. Donna Cooper
List Readers: Jay Trace sent us a photo for Tiggermann for Lake Park Memorial Cemetery and I have it posted. It was one of those where they added a death date. There was also a note for Albright in his additions. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/lakepark/lakepark1.htm On Sparks Cemetery, Jay Trace sent us some notes for Holloway, Hobbs and Hoenshell. And Donna Mills sent five photos and they were for Writer, Wierman, Cox and Oxford. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/sparks/sparks.htm A big thanks to both Jay Trace and Donna Mills for their additions. List Readers: At Maplewood Cemetery, thanks to Phyllis Long and Frances Albert we have new information and notes on these names Antle, Armstrong, Burton, Brattin, Catron, Atwell, Erwin, Gurley, Higgs, Journey, Long, Mattingly McNabb, Pilant, Robbins, Shrum, Stephens. Lawson, Stewart, Thompson. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/maplewood/maplewood.htm Don't ever give up on me, because it took me 6 weeks to get these on the web after they were submitted. I seem to stay behind with a full mail box. Thanks to both of you for your kind patience and your submissions. Donna Cooper
Hi there, I didn't see the one for James Scroggins, unless all there was was a footstone. I did find the one for Missouri Pendergraft, but there isn't any information on it, so I didn't know what or who it is. It seems to be just a cube-shaped thing with rocks pasted all over the outside. Next time I get out there, I'll look for old James and snap a pic of the rock box. jay --- Donna Cooper <saarisr@sbcglobal.net> wrote: > List Readers: We have 8 new stone photos on the > Beaver Cemetery page that > Jay Trace sent us. > > Jay: Are we still needing one more photo on that one > or did you send it and > I just didn't find it? > > http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/beaver/beaver.htm > > Thanks so much, Jay, for all you do. > > Donna Cooper > > > Please tell us about your Barry county ancestors. > The list-admin is Donna Cooper, address - > (saarisr@sbcglobal.net) > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email > to MOBARRY-request@rootsweb.com with the word > 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and > the body of the message > ____________________________________________________________________________________ Boardwalk for $500?
