    3. Good Morning: Concerning the photo of Henry Clay Smithey that we posted the other day, I had a message from the Gowen Foundation that I thought would interest you. They have done a lot of research on Amanda Henrietta Gowen and Henry Clay Smithey. I looked through the page that is linked below and saw a lot of Barry County connections and so I thought you'd enjoy reading more about these families. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gowenrf/Gowenms042.htm We have a page on the web site about the Harbin house, which was a stage coach stop and is near Rock Springs. It seems to me that there was no historical marker on the property but one about a mile away on Hwy 37, but maybe my memory is not what it should be.
