    3. Wilma, I'm close in names, but not a match.. I have an Ida Ellen Birkes born 1883 in Ark. The father was Marion N Birkes. His father Silas was from Barry. MO. My Charles Birkes was born abt 1788 in NC. He had a son named George Washington. Just had to balance of Thomas Jefferson in your line. Still no matches with this "Roll Call" for me. That way of people don't want to be bothered with the roll call they can delete them in easily.     3. Hi Betty, The Bowman I am researching is John Mtchell Bowman who, once he was married, I found in Lexington, MO, but I have no idea of birthplace and other family members. I have his wife and children. Then I have the Birkes family who was connected to the Gentry and Loveall family. Isham Birkes married Mary Anne Loveall and Elias Birkes married Elizabeth Jane Loveall. Emeline Birkes married Ben Haddock from Capps Creek.(Alexander Haddock married a Loveall) Elizabeth's second marriage, Elias died during the Civil War, was to Mark Gentry.
