    1. [MOBARRY] Roll Call-Hall family
    2. cathysfamily
    3. Jane, My Hall line begins with Anthony Hall. He and his wife Eleanor had several children. He was born in S. Carolina and they lived in Kentucky when their children were born. They moved to Benton Co. Ark. in the 1840's. My 3rd Great grandparents were Isaac and Lucinda (Hembree) Weatherby. They lived in Barry Co. in 1860. Isaac then died about 1867 and on May 7, 1868 she married Anthony Hall. But I am not just researching the Hall's because of Anthony. Several of his children married relatives of mine also. James Hall married Parmelia Brewer who was Lucinda's Hembree daughter from her 1st marriage. Allen Hall married Rosaline Johnson who is a sister to my GG grandmother Juley Ann (Johnson) Weatherby. (She married John Weatherby who was Isaac and Lucinda's son). Elijah Hembree married Rachel Hembree who was a sister to Lucinda Hembree. And the most bizarre is: Martha Hall married my 3rd Gr.Grandfather Thomas Johnson after his 1st wife died. He was the father of JuleyAnn Johnson who married John Weatherby. Thanks, Cathy

    3. Hi Wilma, Thanks so much for your reply...I am rather new to Birkes... I am specificaly looking for a Lavelle Birkes (male) who lived near Exeter. I will add this Ida to my notes in case she comes in handy at a later date. Newtonia is not that far away.... The Birkes I know about lived in and a near Corsicana, Old El Paso, Ridgley they were general store owners in those towns. 3. Hi Tom, Which Higgs line are you researching? I might be able to help you? I am a Higgs and several years back I wrote a History of the Higgs family. As most of us do, I have tried to add to it and refine... All the Higgs in Barry County are descendants of one John Higgs who came to Butterfield area about 1852 from North Carolina. John had 14 children 11 of which came with him to Barry County. There is a separate( not related ) Higgs family that lives over by Anderson in McDonald County and some of their descendants live in Joplin. I also know a little about the Burtons, Barnett's, Montgomery's Linebargers, Antle.and Birks. as I currently live very near where the early families were located. This Walker family were in some relation to my Ross and Baze family that were in Barry Co. The Baze's showed up there abt. 1837, but land was got by Abednego Baze, my 4th Gr.Grandfather. My 3rd Gr.Grandparents were James Ross and Charity aka Charlotte Baze. These families come from Va, Ky. Mo. Im sure most of these familes are no longer existing in Barry Co.
