    3. Hello - I am interested in the migration of folks from Reynolds Co. to Barry Co. I have another family who took this route, the family of Henry DINKINS (whose daughter Sarah Agnes married John Ruben RIGGS.) Henry died in the Civil War and his wife and 2 of his children are buried in Bullington Cemetery. Were there many other families who followed this route? My DINKINS group came from Simpson Co. KY. Donna's roll call generated so much email that I thought I might put these names out there in hopes someone will find what they are looking for. These are news clippings from Florence Patterson Rose. Florence was a Schell - Pendergraft descendant, nee Patterson, married Lionel Rose. Most are family related. Most are obits, some anniversaries, and funeral cards. Happy hunting, Phyllis All are obits unless otherwise stated. I have most of these people placed in my file and most Barry Co. obits are posted on the Barry Co. site. Some are from Pea Ridge area. 2. Donna Cooper
    3. Good Evening: Concerning the photo of Henry Clay Smithey that we posted the other day, I had a message from the Gowen Foundation that I thought would interest you. I posted this in the middle of our roll call the other day and so I thought that I'd post it again since it might have been overlooked during that busy time. Here below is the message including the letter from the foundation. ----------------- They have done a lot of research on Amanda Henrietta Gowen and Henry Clay Smithey. I looked through the page that is linked below and saw a lot of Barry County connections and so I thought you'd enjoy reading more about these families. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gowenrf/Gowenms042.htm We have a page on the web site about the Harbin house, which was a stage coach stop and is near Rock Springs. It seems to me that there was no historical marker on the property but one about a mile away on Hwy 37, but maybe my memory is not what it should be. Do any of you know for sure if the marker is on the property or not. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/rocksprings/harbin.htm Donna Cooper -------------------------------------------------------------- Copy of message Hi, Donna, We read with interest your post on Henry Clay Smithey and Amanda Henrietta Gowen. The Foundation has done extensive research on the family of Amanda Henrietta Gowen. Please see excerpts from Section .042 attached below. You may use this material in any way you find beneficial on your Barry County, Missouri list. Best wishes, Arlee Gowen, Pres. 3. List Readers: Jack Fly is back in the cemetery business. He sent us a new cemetery that we didn't have. It is for Haddock Cemetery, which is located near Purdy, MO. Gerald Haddock and I have been scratching our heads on this one for a long time now so I am glad to see that we finally have nailed down the location and have it done. Oh, Yes, I almost forgot that now we can say - ANOTHER ONE DONE! If any of you have more to add to this please let me know. I thought some of you might know something more about this John L. Wilson who died in 1869 - age 44. This is very nice work and we sure appreciate all you do, Jack. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/haddock-2/haddock-2.htm Our thanks to Diana Cope who has been fine tuning Hilton Cemetery. She found a couple of typos. One was for Mary Hilton and the other was for Nancy Gipson, and both were on the transcriptions. She also added the history of the cemetery, which really adds a lot to her her work. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/hilton/hilton.htm Jack Fly found a typo in the Purdy Cemetery files. It concerned Moore and Fly. So you might want to check out the Fly data for more details. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/cemetery/purdy/purdy.htm And on the Cassville Music photo, Frances Albert added that the man in the white shirt was William Andrew Wright. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/Cassville/index.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/Cassville/music.htm Also our thanks to Linda Stephens McCormick who added two very nice photos - one of the depot in Cassville and the other one of the Cassville High School in 1939. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/Cassville/index.htm Thanks to all of you who helped with these items and for the photos, too.
