List Readers: Our thanks to Nora Eden who noticed that the poster in the window of the photo that Alice Allen submitted of the Berrin and Matlock Grocery Store is an American Red Cross one. It was the one that they had for the 1918 year. I cut the people out and enlarged that piece so we could see them more clearly. I was thinking that maybe we had seen the woman and man pictured in another photo somewhere. Do any of you know about that? http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/pioneer/index.htm Donna Cooper

Donna. Congrats. I have recommended your site as an example that other sites in your neighborhood could use (won't mention county names). Great job. Kudos to all who have worked so diligently and especially to Donna for putting it all together!
WOO-HOO!!! Long overdo, I would say! Do they have a GenWeb site of the year? If, not they should, and Barry Co. should have it! I use GenWeb sites all over the country, and some are really good, but Barry Co. surpasses them all. I am convinced that the coordinators have the reponsibility in getting their people out gathering and posting information on their county sites, and most fail in that regard. Donna, when you get Barry Co. to slow down (HA!), you can then take over some other counties--LOL! I can think of several in MO and AR that could use someone like you to put a "burr under their saddle", and get busy contributing to their county sites. Wow! What a treasure trove of photos from Alice and Donna. It was great fun looking at them all. And I'm sad and lamenting that the thriving little town of Pioneer, which had wonderful houses, stores and mill buildings, is now long gone from the scene. But at least these pictures survived so that we, and future generations, may know of the people who lived and worked and laughed and went to school and had picnics on the bank of Shoal Creek at that place. List Readers: On the Washburn 1919 school photo, I made some notes. I thought that maybe by doing this I'd jar some memories. If you know some older person in the Washburn area, please see what you can find out and maybe we can confirm some of these. Your help is always appreciated. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/schoolbook/1919perkinswash.htm Donna Cooper
Good Evening: The web site is really growing. We now have over 7,000 pages online. That is a lot because each web page is about 10 to 20 typed written pages. Two years ago in January we had 1080 pages so you can see what our volunteers have been busy doing. And - we have a lot of new things tonight. The obits that are new are for - Florence Stinnett, Elsie Shepherd, Ava Stewart, Helen Jewell Oleta (Mahan) Starkey, Ida (Shipley) Sanders, Danny Simpson. I didn't keep a list of the submitters but think most were from a Linda Garrett. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm I had to open up the 3rd book of photos and have all these below posted in it but don't have them indexed yet - so just go to the new photo book - Book 3 to see them. I will index them on the alphabetical listings pages later this evening. Alice Allen sent me a disc of old photos and I am having a ball going through them and have some of them on the web already. I will be posting from those tomorrow and maybe the next day, too. In Photo Book 3 - Dick Robison, football photo, Lowell Rogers, football photo, Light Patton - there were two for his family, Jack & Hugh Smith, Bill Crumley. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/phs3.1.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/phs3.2.htm In the Mystery Photo book there were these - An unknown woman with a colt, An unknown older woman. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/mysteryphotobook.htm In Photo Book 3 Joyce Snell sent these - 2 for Robert Pearl and Minnie (Woodard) Williams, Amel John Woodard, Minnie Williams and family. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/phs3.2.htm A big thanks to Alice Allen, Joyce Snell and Linda Garrett for their help with all these new items. Lydia MORELAND is said to have been born in Jan or Feb 1900 in Monett. Are there any birth records for 1900? We would like to find out her father's first name. Her mother's maiden name was Nettie Todd. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mildred Greenstreet **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
