    3. List Readers: Our thanks to Tom Courdin for the nice photo we have to feature this week. This photo was submitted a few weeks ago by Tom Courdin and it is of the Corsicana Mill. I believe that they are cutting wood - maybe for the mill? By featuring this one, I am hoping that we can find out more about the photo I wonder if any of you might know who the men are in the photo? The man with beard looks familiar - like we've seen him in another photo. If any of you can help with the date and the identity of these fellows, please let us know. Donna Cooper

    2. Donna Cooper
    3. List Readers: Today I spent some time going over - reading hard copies - of the 1917 newspapers. I spent a lot of time reading through the paper dates that I'd already typed, comparing them to the ones online to see what I may have on hands that isn't typed for 1917. I found one folder of the Cassville Republican that has odd and end sheets in it - with papers with similar dates as the Cassville Democrat but with different articles in them. I noticed that I'd highlight a lot of obits - the highlighted ones indicate obits that I found in the Republican that weren't in the Democrat so I started trying to type a few of them as I sorted them. Those of you who have suffered with carpal tunnel know exactly what I mean when I say that it is slow going ... When you are looking at the 1917 listing of papers - look for the Cassville Republican listings for new weeks that have been added in between the dates that were already online for the Democrat. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/news/7/index-7.htm Also for new obits I found these - Elizabeth (McKinney) Suttles, Polly (Herd) Weston, Susan (Price) Stephens, James T. Thompson, Minerva King Rowan Kelly, Hobart Anderson, Fred Cooper, Charlotte Edith (Fleetwood) Morgan I am not sure if that is all of them or not, you might want to take a look through the obits for new listings. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm Donna Cooper

    3. Hi, I did and yes you are right but I found a death cert. for Betty Ann and the death date is the same as Billy Ann and so are the parents and the cemetery and she lived to be 6 mos old. I didn't know if this was the same person and either the death cert. had a different name or the grave stone but still the same person as the death cert. seems to be the same as the grave stone. I can't see 2 twin daughters liven 6 mos and they die on the same day that is why I asked. Barbara eor@saber.net ----- Original Message ----- From: Darla Marbut To: Barbara Smith Sent: Saturday, January 19, 2008 7:45 AM Subject: Re: Edith Gentry Priest Dear Barbara, I don't know about a Betty if you will go to the Munsey Cemetery that is on line and click on "Bille" Priest the photo will come up and it reads Bille not Betty and it is clear that it is a Bille Priest. If there is a mistake it must be on who made the stone. Again if you'll type in your Priest, Gentry, and Rice names in the blank of the opening page, everything on the Barry Co site about them that is available will come up. Click on each of those and you'll find out a lot....including Barry Co, Marriages. Go to the census that is on the site, they are listed by year, you can trace a family from the first time they got to Barry Co and each year thereafter until the 1900 census. I don't think they have any that are after that. For example: 219 Reading, Henry Head M Aug 1862 37 M 15 IL IA WV Ma y E Wife F Jul 1864 35 M 15 7-5 MO MO AR Flora M Dau F Mar 1885 15 S AR IL MO Elmer I Son M Oct 1887 12 S MO IL MO Ora M Dau F Jun 1891 8 S MO IL MO Julia Dau F Mar 1896 4 S MO IL MO 1900 Roaring River Township, Barry Co, Mo Census Notice that Flora was born in Arkansas ....so in 1885 they were living in Arkansas. You might check the census for Carroll Co and Benton Co Arkansas...counties nearest the Missouri line. 3. Hello, I sure need some help. On the Muncey cemetery there is posted a Billie Ann Priest and wile I was looking up this family line everything adds up to Betty Ann Priest who died at 6mos. and 4 days old on March 21 1945 and on her death cert is in the same cemetery as Billie Ann Priest and there is no grave for Betty. So are these twins or a mix up of names as I am not able to find anything on Billie Ann Priest except the grave. The stone on the grave is homemade and old and hard to read. The parents are Lawarnce William Priest and Mary Dovie Clevenger Priest. Thank you for any help, Barbara eor@saber.net

    3. Good Morning: We have some new items - newspaper items for Nov. and Dec. of 1917 - that you might find interesting. Among the news items that was added was a letter from soldier boys Clayborne Bowman and Ernest Brock. Also several obits including one for G. W. Wilks - murdered, Fred Cooper, Charles Edens and Zeppa Barnes. There were others but those I remember. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/news/7/index-7.htm I hate most not being able to do what I want to do. So I will be very glad to have the surgery and to get this carpal tunnel thing behind me. Left handed mouse work and limited time at the key board brought you today's new things. Now - if I could figure out how to do cemeteries without a mouse I probably could do some more work on Monett - well, until the surgeon shuts me down. I need a volunteer who knows how to take data from Excell and put it in a web program or Word - without rearranging the data. If there is someone out there who could help with that I have several files that I could use some help with. Donna Cooper

    3. Dear Patricia, This may or may not help, but the "book" for St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery of Pulaskifield, last I heard, was in the possession of a Mr. Abramovitz of Pierce City. Seems like his first name was Julian, but I'm really not sure. I don't know if he would have a better handle on a death date or not. He might also have the name of the funeral home that handled the service, and they might have more information as well. He should be in the book. Nice guy, if I remember right. jay --- "P.A. 3. I have been trying to locate the death certificate for Michael Kresyman in the online index at the SOS website. He died in 1939, according to his tombstone. Therefore, his record should be online. It's possible that he died in 1938, but he's not in that year's index, either. He lived in Barry County for most of his life. He is buried there. I have tried every permutation of the name that I can think of and still can't turn up the record. It has appeared in various older records as Creseman, Crazyman, Kresiman, Creyeman, Kressman, Kressmann, Kresymann, Kresimon, and Krezyman. I would very much like to see his death record. Because his farm was on the border of Lawrence and Barry counties, perhaps he died in Pierce City, in a hospital, or even in Springfield, which would mean he died in another adjacent county. Can anyone please advise me as to how I might be able to find his death record? I know from a book that was printed about Pulaskifield in the mid-1990s that his family owned land in Nebraska, so it's possible that he died in that state. If so, does anyone know how I can find more information about his death? Unfortunately, I don't know the exact date of death, which is what either state requires to buy a copy of the death certificate. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. 2. Donna , I recently had the surgery done, and the pain has gone away, but it will take a while for you to get over it, and your doctor will tell you this, there is this program " speak and type?" have you heard of this, do you think it might help someone such as yourself who does so much work on the computer?
