Those are not the ones I did but they look great. I did the entire cemetery. They are posted on Cemetery Central - at this link below. Cassy Sommers, the coordinator of Knox County, KY, also has that web site. She is a Mills descendant. There are a lot of Clevenger stones there. They are related to both the Mills families and to the Barry County, MO, Clevenger families. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~foe3643/Union/Union.html Donna Cooper -------Original Message------- From: mobarry@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, January 27, 2008 12:53:24 PM To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MOBARRY] Clevenger Saw the headstone for Cordelia and Edwin Clevenger at the below website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~moray/cemeteries/orrick/union/union.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna Cooper" <saarisr@sbcglobal.net> To: <mobarry@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 27, 2008 12:05 PM Subject: [MOBARRY] Clevenger > List Readers: For those of you researching the Clevenger families of Barry > County, MO, I think that they are the same Clevenger family from Orrick, > Ray > Co., MO. Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that over the past 3 days I have helped Barbara Smith take her .pdf files and convert them to .jpeg files (to date have done 31 for her). IF I can help you convert any of your .pdf files in order for you to send to Donna or to add to your Family Tree Maker, please just let me know. I'll be glad to help. List Readers: For those of you researching the Clevenger families of Barry County, MO, I think that they are the same Clevenger family from Orrick, Ray Co., MO. If so, they are intermarried with the Mills families of Knox Co., KY and a lot of them are buried in Union Cemetery in Ray County. I photograped that Ray County cemetery about 3 or 4 years ago and it's on the web somewhere. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll look for the web site that has it I thought that if you have a Barry County Clevenger that you might like this research clue. Donna Cooper
I have about 600 death certificates on hands that I have not had the time to post. And so I am going to ask you to hold off on sending them to me until the ones in the backlog are done. Stefanie Forester has been helping out with the death certificates and obits but her father had to have open heart surgery and so she has had her hands full with family trama for the past few weeks. If we can give her some time to get her family troubles behind her then maybe we can talk her into helping out some more with this project. I hope you understand - because we always like getting new data for the web site. Good Morning: Our featured photo for today is one of the 1909 Junior class of Monett, MO. Since Elaine Orr shared this photo with us, we have posted several cemetery photos in IOOF and I know more of you have been studying the Monett families so I thought some of you might find a grandparent pictured in this vivid school photo. Elaine Orr featured this photo in her book, "Images of America - Monett", page 71. She said this photo is a post card and on file in the Monett Library as are a lot of the 1909 school photos of Monett and of that area. Here is the link. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Again, thanks so much for sharing this nice photo with us Elaine. Donna Cooper
Hello Everyone, I need any help please. I have a obit that gives so little information so if anyone has anything on this lady I can sure use the help. I think I am getting my Mary's mixed up and also my Homer's. Jessie Homes Reavis that died in 1955 and is Mars Hill cemetery in Barry CO. his grave has his name as Homer Reavis and and he is buried with wife or mother Bitha. On his death cert. and I am sure it is his as the birthday is the same but mothers name is spelled Bytha Bowling and father Newton Reavis. Ok now is he married again to a Mary as this is on the death cert. of his. Can anyone tell me anything on this Mary Reavis on this death cert. also on Mary D. Reavis obit it has her husband J.H. Reavis died in 1955. Was this Mary a 2nd wife who name was Mary Dovie Clevenger that married a Rice then married Jessie Homer Reavis. Also is Homer really Jessie Homer Reavis and buried next to his mother or is he Newton Reavis. If he isn't Newton then where is his grave? Who was his 1st wife? Mary D. Reavis is in I.O.O.F cemetery and inscription is "Mother" research note her husband was J.H. Reavis died in 1955. If anyone can help on this mess please do so. Thank you, Barbara
List Readers: My domestic duties got in the way of my posting duties today but I have a few things for today. The new obits were added with the help of Darla Marbut. She has been reading the newspapers and looking for entries that we don't have posted in the obit and cemetery sections. Thanks a bunch, Darla. They are for: Mary Rebecca (Roller) Burnett, George Franklin Snizer, George Meador, Frank Fogg, from Darla's file. Geo. Ervin http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm Also tonight we have another week of newspapers on the web. I typed the week of January 31, 1918. There is a human interest story that was in that week's paper that I typed. It is about the big snow that came Feb. 2, 1886 - recorded in record book g on page 64 - a 20 inch snow. During that time smallpox was raging around Barry County and the war was going full blast. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/news/7/index-7.htm Donna Cooper

Wilma, I don't have them all sorted out but I think most of these Potts are part of William & Rebecca's family although there may have been an unrelated Potts family in Benton County for a while. The listing I have appears to be page 35 from a book entitled Benton County cemeteries. Some of the listings are the same as yours, some are different. In 1988 Willie Galyen told me he remembered helping to dig their graves.I have never been able to determine where he was originally buried but Pratt is several miles from where they lived. Maybe someday some of the mysteries will be solved. Nancy, Do you have the dates of deaths for the Potts? I live in Benton Co. and have access to some things that might help if I have some dates. I haven't been able to find the graves of several family members including Frank & Sarah Potts first 2 children and have searched all available records and have visisted several cemteries in these counties. William & Nancy Mootry & some of their children are buried in Pratt cemetery which is east of the military park in Benton County. A Cook relative told me that originally Wm. Wilma, I have some listings for Dent-Moore located 5 miles from Hwy 72 East of Pea Ridge, 3 miles NW of the 12 Corner Church, almost on the Mo.-Ark. line. Is this Dent cemetery the same as listed on the Barry County site? I haven't checked the listing for a while but the 2005 directions say it is in McDonald County. I think it may be the same one the partial listings the Ark. archives sent me & the one on the website both show my Fletcher cousins (Ella (nee VanZandt)& Percy) are buried there. Wilma, I think the Potts children are buried in Barry County as the family lived near Seligman until they bought his father's estate in 1897. The names were Henry b. Jan. 1891 d. Dec.1892 & James b. & d. Nov. 1893. They could be the "Potts - all inf. stones broken " listed in Cargile by Joan Kunkel but I don't know for sure. I appreciate help of any kind. Nancy: It's too bad that we waited so long to start transcribing and photographing cemeteries in Barry because there was probably a time that of those old markers might have been read. Ash Township people are really hard to research because some of them are buried in Benton Co., AR, some in McDonald Co., MO and then the balance in Barry Co., MO without legible markers. Who am I to tell you? I am sure that you already know all that. [smile] Good luck in your research and keep us tuned in on your progress.
