Barbara, and other MO researchers, If you have a membership to ancestry.com, they now have images of marriage records in MO. from 1805-2002 , as well as death records and birth record images. The latter are from the registry books. Wilma -------Original Message------- From: Barbara Smith Date: 3/27/2008 11:22:04 PM To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Subject: [MOBARRY] I can't find it on the site. I remember Rev. Siler from my childhood in the First Baptist Church in Cassville.? He was always really kind and quiet, not so much into the fire and brimstone, as I recall.? Good Morning Barbara, Westbay Cemetery is in Monett and is currently called Oakdale Cemetery. It is just north of the Barry/Lawrence line. A list of names will come up, you click on "View image," and the actual document will come on the screen. The place of burial will be in the lower right hand corner. jay --- "Linda D. I have just downloaded .pdf files and converted to .jpeg files letters "A thru C" for 1913. Will try my best to get these posted tomorrow night or over the weekend and then will continue with the alphabet for that year. Linda
For anyone out there that can't covert these .pdf files to the proper format for out website just let me know and I will convert them so they can be added to the website via the death certificate form Donna has set up. Whew! That was a long sentence and probably not grammatically correct (sorry about that). Sometime ago I began converting the files and only got to the letter "C" so since everyone is now pitching in and doing searches by years we might as well take advantage of all these extra eyes and fingers and put the death certificates on the MOBARRY site for all to see. Let me know what you think and if I can help with the conversions just let me know. ----- Original Message ----- From: jay trace To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2008 7:38 PM Subject: Re: [MOBARRY] Poor House Dear Linda, I don't think anyone has picked 1913. Hello Everyone, I have been looking but I am not able to find are the marriages for Barry County on the site? Also I am looking for the husband of Emily (Emma Nolan) Nichols she was the wife of Jacob Elisha Nichols and I found Emma buried in I.O.O.F cemetery but I am not able to find Jake her husband. I know they lived awile in ARK. somewhere and I don't know when either and then moved back to Monett and that is where Emma and her family (parents, brothers and sisters) are buried but I can't find her husband. If anyone runs across him please e-mail me I have been looking for years. Thank you, Barbara eor@saber.net
Jack, this is the reason I asked initially if anyone thought City Cemetery was IOOF because it did show her place of death as Monett. I think you are exactly right. Additional Item: I have a death cert for one: Susie A. Ledenham, DOB: June 18, 1876, DOD: Feb. 08, 1927, Exeter, Barry Co., MO. but the interesting part is her Place of Burial is listed as: Ledenham Graveyard. Jay, Jack, Looks like you sure stirred up a storm on the list with your idea. It's great to see such an active list with so many people pitching in! Never having been to Barry County, I've presumed that "Oak RIDGE" may be an alternate reference to "Oak HILL" cemetery burials Jack Fly requested and included those, but excluded the "CLAY Hill" burials as I see that is listed as a separate cemetery on the MOBarry web site. Death is seldom a welcome event, but even though I went through the list quickly, I still saw that some particularly sad stories must go with some of the people named below. That said, my offering after canvassing the 1915 death follows RB in CA ~ ~ 1915 Potters Field (& Possible Potters Field) Burials, Barry Co., MO: NAME: DATE OF DEATH: COUNTY: CERT #: PLACE OF BURIAL (as listed on Certificate): Mary Ann Anderson September 01, 1915 Barry 26780 "Cassville, MO." Add me to the list for 1913. Let me get this straight. I go to the website mentioned, type in Barry County, then view all the death certificates online - where do I have the information about poor farm and etc? ----- Original Message ----- From: jay trace To: mobarry@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2008 7:38 PM Subject: Re: [MOBARRY] Poor House Dear Linda, I don't think anyone has picked 1913. Both of the City Cemetery listings I found in 1946, were for burials in Pierce City; so my question is which "city" are they referring to? Cheryl Frances and readers, I believe we'll find that City Cemetery will be Oak Hill. I have seen Oak Hill listed on an early Cassville plat as City Cemetery. Please go ahead and send us any burials listed in City Cemetery and we can check these out with the sexton of Oak Hill and make sure they are buried there. Thanks to everyone who has pitched in.
