I use a Mac wireless keyboard and apart from having to replace the batteries about once a month, it's great. I would not recommend the "mighty mouse" if you use a Mac. Ours lost connection all the time until I crushed it (literally) and we have used our old PC plug-in mouse ever since - it works just fine. :) Janel Foss ________________________________ From: Donna Cooper <[email protected]> To: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Sent: Wed, April 7, 2010 3:02:27 PM Subject: [MOBARRY] New List Readers: I had to stop right in the middle of my work today and go and buy a new keyboard. I grew up in this area and attended the Merl's Chapel Church. J. B. Jefferson and his wife lived on this property for many years. Before the Wright's I had never know of this grave yard until Frances had written about. But I did remember seeing this posted. List Readers, this photo of Buzzard Glory School was sent to us by Helen Carden Catron by way of Phyllis Long. Helen told me on the phone that it was called Mt. Pleasant after they called it Buzzard Glory. I don't know what year they stopped having school there but probably around 1954 or maybe even earlier. Helen is in the photo on the front row - third from left. I wonder if you might be able to help us name some of the others in the photo. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Mt-Pleasant/buzzardGlory.htm If any of can add to the information we have it would be appreciated. Phyllis, There are Taylors at Old Carney - and that is sometimes called Flat Creek Cemetery. I have also seen Stubblefield called Flat Creek Cemetery. List Readers: Food for thought - Since there are Gooding graves in Old Carney and it is sometimes called Flat Creek Cemetery, I wonder if the person that they have on this Find A Grave site is buried where they say or not. Anyway I have noticed a lot of mistaken locations and things like that on that site. I wonder if this Leaford Gooding isn't also buried at Carney with the other Gooding names that are there - and that the two graves Jack and Ted found are for an older couple. They look to large to be graves for children. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=44292249 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/flatcreek/flatcreek.htm What do you think? I don't know if I should say this cause Donna may get mad at me, but here at findagrave.com tells of a Flat Creek Cem in Barry County. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2136365&CScn=flat+creek&CScntry=4&CSst=26& you may have to copy and paste the link. It says there that Flat Creek Cemetery is located on county road FR1135 about a third of mile north of Merles Chapel in Twp 23N Range 27W. There is also a Flat Creek Cem at Sedalia, Pettis County, MO There was a John W Taylor that married a Zona Gouge in 1897 in Stone County. A Gracie Taylor is recorded in the 1910 census in Mountain Twp. age 11/12 and her parents are John W and Zona Taylor. That age difference is not uncommon in those days. Since death in childbirth was fairly common, the surviving husband often married a much younger woman after the death of his first wife. I was in the first grade and the queen for my class, but the big girl was the real queen. I had a little crown and she had a big one. List Readers, since tomorrow is Easter I am going to tell you about the featured photo for the coming week tonight. It was taken in 1949 and I submitted it. There are several people in the photo that I don't know the names of. I think at one time I probably knew all their names but it has been 61 years since this photo was taken. I am hoping that you will be able to help me name some or all of these folks. Sadly I must also tell you that many or probably the majority of these people are now deceased. The photo was taken in front of the old Washburn School before the gym was built. I was in the first grade that year. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/oddsnends/bryfams.htm Have a very happy Easter and don't let the Easter bunny hide from you! Donna Cooper
