I have another cemetery unknown. Death certificate says she was buried in Trent Cemetery. I have looked all over the site and haven't come up with anything. Also checked McDonald Co. Emily Reed Lillman Feb. 3, 1851 Barry Co., MO Sept. 19, 1912 Sugar Creek Twp., Barry Co., MO Age 61. Daughter of William Reed and Hailey Scott. A. J. Tillman of Seligman was the informant. Cause of death: She was murdered by D. Lillman. Throat cut and jugular vein severed. Any ideas? Phyllis
Phyllis, Culver's Funeral home records state that Jack Tillman was a son of Dave and Emily (Reed) Tillman. He is buried in King Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/king/kings3.htm September 26, 1912, Thursday, Cassville Republican, Barry Co., MO Murder and Suicide: Dave Tillman, who killed his wife, Thursday morning at 8 o'clock, Sept 26, by cutting her throat at the home of their son, Jack Tillman, one mile north of Seligman, was found dead Monday morning about two hundred yards from the scene of the crime. It is apparent that he committed suicide by cutting his throat soon after committing his deed. The cause for the murder of his wife came from renewing a feeling of unity which had darkened their marriage life for many years. Tillman had been in accusation for the past few years to leave his wife for many months at a time and then returning to remain only a few weeks. On account of his little respect for home, Mrs. Tillman had been living for some time with her son, Jack Tillman, who was at Joplin at the time of this act. Mrs. Jack Tillman states that Mr. and Mrs. Tillman appeared to be in a pleasant mood that morning, attending to the duties of the home, until abut 8 o'clock when she noticed them scuffling in an adjoining room and saw him perform the deed that instantly killed his wife. Mrs. Jack Tillman ran immediately to her nearest neighbor and told the news which soon brought many of their neighbors to the scene of the crime. Tillman made his disappearance, giving Sheriff Newman and other officials careful search in the surrounding country and parts of Oklahoma, until his body was found by his two sons, Monday morning about 11 o'clock lying in a patch of under brush in sight of the house. Mrs. Tillman was 62 years old and was a highly respected citizen. Tillman was a man of 64 years of age and was of a quite disposition. They leave a family of three children. They are Harry Tillman, of Carterville; Mrs. Rose Garland of Pierce City and Jack Tillman of Seligman. The body of Mrs. Tillman was buried in the Reed cemetery and the remains of Tillman were buried Monday evening at the New Salem Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/data/obits/t/tillmanDave.htm http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/news/barryfamilies46.14.htm Donna Coooper --- On Wed, 4/14/10, Phyllis Long <[email protected]> wrote: > From: Phyllis Long <[email protected]> > Subject: [MOBARRY] Trent Cemetery > To: [email protected] > Date: Wednesday, April 14, 2010, 7:20 PM > I have another cemetery > unknown. List Readers, hello from here on this nice spring day! I have my garden planted, am cleaning up things from the trip we took and am busy as a bee. But, as you probably guessed, there is always some time for MoBarry genealogy. I have decided that I will probably never be caught up and will always be behind on posting so I decided to start working on Oak Ridge. To be behind speaks well of our researchers and really tells you how hard that they work because I post something almost every day. Here is the Oak Ridge Story - Elmer Thorn took a few but just jumped around in the cemetery so Darla Marbut started photographing this one, but her husband took sick and she had to stop right in the middle so Ted Roller help us out and took the rest of the photos - that was back in the fall of 2009. And then Phyllis Long renamed the photos and prepared them for the web while I was in California in the spring of 2010. Back in the winter of 2009 I redid all of the Oak Ridge pages and switched the code over to CSS - a more modern way of doing web pages - so that they would open faster. As you can see a lot of hands have already touch this one and we are far from done yet. So - to continue with the Oak Ridge story - this morning I started posting photos. And here is what I have so far - Reuben Maloney, Ida May (Shrum) Maloney, Edmond Alvin Lovell, Ruby (Zilliox) Lovell, Addie P. (Lovell) Patterson, Eldon Charles Elliott, WWII, Calvin Sanders, Patricia Sanders, Dorothy (Beeson) Lyall, James E. Sanders, also added Funeral Home record, Bessie (Middleton) Sanders, maiden name added from husband's funeral home record. James E. Bush, also added Funeral Home record, Alta J. (Hankins) Bush, also added dc, Valen Wiley Lowe, also added dc, Aaron Harvey Lowe, Jr., also added Funeral Home record, Aaron Harvey Lowe, Sr., also added Funeral Home record, Dorothy Rouser, Theodore D. Rouser. I don't have anything on the Rousers so if you have something that you can add, please add it to our temporary cemetery folder so I can post it with their stone photos. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/oakridge/oakridge.htm Enjoy Oak Ridge and this beautiful spring weather! List Readers: Tonight I have two new O. K. School photos that Linda Swindle submitted. These went in the 50 year reunion book for Southwest High that we have on line. And so I thought since they were for O. K. you'd also enjoy seeing them in the School-Book - so I posted them there, too. They are for 1952-1953 and 1953 and 1954. One has several question marks by the names so if you can help us with those it will be very much appreicated. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/o-index.htm Reunion Book http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/index.htm And the 50th Reunion page - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/1960-Southwest/1960Reunion.htm Thanks, Linda, nice to have these. He served as Barry County treasurer several years and in the State legislature two terms and was earlier the First Postmaster of Wheaton in 1907. He was born April 30, 1877 in Lee County, VA. He died Jun 9 1960. The lady standing to his immediate right is his wife Lettie Lambert McQueen who was born 1877 and died 1942. Their children were Thelma McQueen Smith, Berniece McQueen Viles (both teachers in Barry County) and a son Malloy McQueen who was a Lawyer and worked for a short time as a lawyer in Cassville. List Readers, Curtis Risley has added Robert Risley to the Spanish American War pages. Robert is buried in Mano Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/spwar/spwar.htm This is a nice entry! Thanks Curtis! Donna Cooper
List Readers, the featured photo is one of the Inman or Inmon sisters that was submitted by Linda Stephens McCormick. This is a great old photo and if you don't look at this one you will miss one of the greatest photos that we have had for our feature. There aren't many photos out there that are this old that are in this good of shape. This photo is one of the best examples of the 1860 times that I have seen. These children have on dresses that must have taken weeks to make. This style of dress-making would have taken a good seamstress to handle. The pantaloons would have been another big chore to make. My, how times have changed! Linda would like to know more about the Morgan family of Pulaski Co., MO, so if you are researching the Morgan folks you might drop her a line. By chance - could they be related to the Barry County Morgans? ___________________ Louisa Virginia and Mary Jane Inman Ages 10 and 5 - Photo taken 1869 Daughters of Marvel S. List Readers, I have two more restored photos for you. Both are photos that Linda McCormick submitted and that Gary Ball has worked on. Gary has been one busy fellow working on some of our older photos. This one is of an oxen team. The card was mailed from Cassville but Linda later found out that the scene is in Cotter, AR. We have never figured out who in Cassville mailed it, but would like to have that information for the web page. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/Cassville/1908.oxen.htm And the other one is of some of the old time Cassville boys in the Pythagoras Lodge. This is another one of my favorites - even though I don't have relatives in it - I really love this old photo. If you haven't seen this one you have missed a great treat - take a look at the uniforms and how they are so professionally situated in their lodge rolls. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/pythagoras.htm I left the old ones as the opening photos on these two and linked Gary's restoration photos to the pages. Thanks, Gary! We appreciate all that you do. Donna Cooper
List Readers, our thanks to Gary Ball for his restoration projects. I have another one of them posted now. I have both the old and the restored photos posted because some people like to see both and love to see the comparison. This photo is one that Linda McCormick posted of Cassville 1910 and is one of our prized posessions. I have this photo on my desk top for both my lap top and my pc and I never seem to tire of it. I really love to look at it. In the one wagon next to the left side and in the front look at the sacks that are loaded in it. I wonder if those were of things to eat or were feed for cattle. Th man in the wagon like afair has a can on the back. I wonder if that is a milk can or maybe a cream can. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/Cassville/index.htm Enjoy Gary's good work!

CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED FOR LEANN CEMETERY UPKEEP The Leann Cemetery, located 10 miles south of Aurora on Highway 39, is in need of contributions for mowing this summer. If you have relatives buried in the cemetery or are interested in the upkeep of the cemetery, please send contributions to the secretary: Ruby Vincent, Secretary, Leann Cemetery, 20674 Farm Road 2065, Aurora, MO 65605. Deposits can also be made to the checking account at First Independent Bank of Aurora. Those buried in the cemetery did not pay for lots; therefore, paying the expenses is dependent upon donations. For more information, call the secretary at 417-574-6323. Jack Fly sent this to me. He said this was in the advertiser and so we thought we'd pass it on to you. Please help them if you can. List Readers, without a doubt Barry County is a very busy spot on the web. It is hoping up and down with school photos that have come in the last few days. I have several new school photos for today and still some more for tomorrow. Janel Foss submitted a photo of Silas and Rose (VanZandt) Stephens. This is a good one to have on the site because I know that many folks are going to enjoying seeing it. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/stephensSilas2.htm Charles Beam sent the cover copy of the 1950 Wheaton yearbook along with a LOT of miscellaneous photos for the class of 1950. You will really enjoy looking through these, I think. I liked the ones of the boys that were stacked three high! http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/index.htm While on that reunion page take a look at the 1960 class photos that have come in and that were posted yesterday and today. Those are being submitted by the class of 1960. One I remember was a 1954 O.K. class group. We sure could use an original on that one and so Linda Swindle is trying to locate one for us. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/index.htm Folks say that they are enjoying the reunion pages! So - if your class has a 50, 60 or 70 (or higher) year reunion I can set up a page for your photos like I've done for Wheaton and Southwest RV. Just drop me a note and tell me the details about it. A big thanks goes to our helpers - the Class of 1950 of Wheaton, the Class of 1960 at Southwest RV and Janel Foss for her nice family photo. Have a good evening. Donna Cooper
List Readers, we have a new yearbook that was added to our pages today. Charles Beam added the 1950 yearbook for Wheaton and I added it to the Wheaton Reunion pages and to the yearbook section. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/1950-Wheaton/1950wheaton.htm And here - http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Yearbooks/yearbooks.barry.htm I added new photos to the 1960 Southwest High class reunion pages today. There were in among the photos were 1953, 1954 and 1955 Seligman Carnival photos. I need help with identification on some of the students. So all help is appreciated. Also added were some elementery sports photos for that same class group. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Reunions/1950-Wheaton/1950wheaton.htm Thanks to all our helpers - from the class of 60 at Washburn and the class of 50 at Wheaton. I have some more new photos in my mail box - so more tomorrow. Donna Cooper
