    3. Good Morning - I am off to see the Wizard - the wonderful Wizard of OZ - am going to my 50th year school reunion this week-end. I am not sure about the wizard being there but could be some that will look like wizards to me since I haven't seen them in 50 years. *smile* I will be at the school later today helping with the set up process. So - I will not be posting anything for two or three days. Here are the new items that I added last night - John Elwood Crumley's photo - came in from our Facebook site from Ladeen Crumley Johnson. She writes that - "My Dad and Mom were married in 1929, (Grace Moudy) she was his last wife. He died in 1949 at Afton, Oklahoma, he was a funeral director. They are both buried at G.A.R. cemetery at Miami, Oklahoma."  I believe that he had two other wives but I don't have dates for them or the order that they go so if anyone can help with that - I would appreciate it. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/photos/photo-3/crumleyJohnElwood.htm Mano Cemetery - Phyllis Long added John R. Chappell, Mary Elizabeth (Towler) Eagleston http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/mano/mano.htm Phyllis Long added - Archer - Shrum Cemetery - George Gist Smith   http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/archer/archer.htm Barbara Erwin added Mathew Durham to the Truelove cemetery records with an old obit. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/truelove/truelove.htm Thanks goes to Ladeen Crumley Johnson, Barbara Erwin and Phyllis Long for help with our new items today. 3. I would call it "Barry County Genealogy." That way it would make sense for searching. You can make yourself the facilitator of the group much like the same set-up you have for the Barry county website. 3. List Readers, Today we have some new notes for a few of our cemeteries that were posted by Darla Marbut and Phyllis Long. Golly, golly, Miss Molly, I do sure like reading these! Notice that the obit reads that he was buried in Hemphill Cemetery - so could it be that Hemphill is another name for Mano? There are no Hemphills buried there. I wonder if they intended for the paper to print Hembree Cemetery.      There was an E.F. in Co L, 1st Cav from Mano. - Online Newspapers-Mano News: Ephriam Hembrey, a well known citizen, died at his home near Mano, Friday morning, May 16, 1913, age about 80 years. He died very suddenly. He leaves a wife and 7 children and host of grandchildren. Funeral services were held at his home. His remains were interred in the Hemphill Cemetery. Cassville Republican, Thursday, May 22, 1913 Ephriam Embree had three wives: Elizabeth, Mary Ann Clark, and Tennessee Russell daughter of Milo and Nicey Haddock Russell. Tennie had 1st married Henry Dell and they had 1 son, Charles Dell. She married Ephriam Hembree March 10, 1907.   Donna Cooper

    3. List Readers, while out in the cemeteries on Memorial Day be sure that you have your cameras and remember to snap a few shots. We still have these cemeteries left to do - Jolly Bethel, St. Paul & St. Peter, Mano, Painter, Concord, Ennis, Osa - need to finish it. Near the line - Mt. Olive - Newton County - Pioneer's Cemetery, Roller, McDonald County, west of Washburn's Cemetery, Rocky Comfort, McDonald County, Oakdale, Monett Cemetery. We have a dozen or so cemeteries that only have a few graves that we need to do.  Perkins and Stinnett have a few graves - maybe 20 or so. Do you see anything that I missed? Roller at Garfield was done by Wilma Fields and I will begin doing it as soon as I can get caught up a little bit. It is only a mile or so from the line and is filled with Barry County folks. For Sparks Cemetery - Phyllis Long submitted notes for these - most from death certificates: Mary Ann Gandy, Avery Hallis Land, Land Twin, Orvil Land, Roy Roberds, Mary (Sluff) Boyer, Mary Ruth Smith, Letha Emily (Norris) Brown) Riott, Curtis Verdayne "Bunny" Haworth, Land Infant, Mearl Markey, Alma Loraine Stockdale, Mary Irene Dodson. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/sparks/sparks.htm Donna Cooper

    1. [MOBARRY] Umphfres and Allens in Barry county
    2. Patty McWilliams
    3. On the Barry County site in the Viney Cemetery there are listings for Andrew N. Umphfres, Jan 24, 1876 - Jan 26, 1910 and C.W. Umpfres, Nov 12, 1833- Feb 19, 1910. I have some comments as I believe I may have identified these as father/son from my Summers Family research. (The index for C.W. needs the "h" added and I believe his initials are G.W.) Gaston George Washington Umphfres was born in Hall County, Ga. Most researchers list his middle name as William, but descendants who have photos of Gaston & his wife wrote his name many years ago as Gaston George Washington Umphfres. He appears in the 1900 Barry County census with his wife Holly/Hollie Aminda and sons Andrew b. Jan 1876 in AR and Hiram A., b. March 1882, in AR. In 1880 they lived in Boone Co., AR. Arminda's maiden name was Barton according to family records and she was also born in Hall Co, GA. I have been told she died in 1917 but I do not know where she died. Son Andrew Nathaniel Umphfres, also buried in Viney Cemetery, married Betty Allen in 1901 in Barry County. The 1910 Barry Co. census shows Betty Umphfres, widow, living with her children and her parents, Blake and Sarah Allen. The children are Luther, 12, MO; Robert, 8, MO; Arminda, 7, MO; Michie, 4, AR; Elmer, 4, AR; Eldridge, 1, A. She reports having had 6 children/6 living, however, Luther, 12, could be from a prior marriage for Andrew N as he and Betty would have only been married 9 years at this time. I have found Betty in the 1920 Carroll Co, AR census married to James Haily--her Umphfres children are with them. I have failed in finding death certificates for either man and Barbara Erwin checked the newspapers for any mention of their deaths with no results.
