    3. List Readers, I am happy to say that we have some new obits this morning. They were submitted by Stan McKay, Wilma Fields, and our obit lady - Barbara Erwin. Most are the older kind and add a great deal of information to family names.  Stan submitted these: Mary Catherine (Glenn) (Highbarger) Starns, Lottie Shaffer, Nancy Elizabeth (Fife) Sult. Wilma Fields submitted: Berton C. Catron Barbara Erwin submitted: Mathew B. Durham, Andrew McGlothlin, Lucy (Reynolds) Varner, Henry Franklin Ledenham. I know how you love old obits so let's give a big warm thanks to all who added these to our files.  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/data/obits.htm Donna Cooper

    3. List Readers, here we go - another one done!!!!  Clap, clap, clap! http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/ennis-ennes/ennis.htm It looks like we are going to need a volunteer to go by the cemetery and check out the Hall and Johnson stones and see if we missed some of those.  Any takers? 3. List Readers, as you probably guessed - work continues on the cemeteries and also on the back log. Cheryl posted a photo of an old stone at Clark for James Neill and I added that to the Clark pages yesterday. She said that the stone was no longer there. It had the month and day of birth and death on it and the new one only has the years. I thought maybe that the old stone had been removed when the new one was placed there but she said that both stones were there back in 1981. So if you know the answer to that puzzle, please share with us.  http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/clark/clark.htm I have all of Ennis on the web but 50 photos now - and so I will contiue working on those today and tomorrow. I have added 120 so far but there are several duplicates in that count. The stone that Gerald Haddock recorded as Geshears is Beshears as I'd suspected and so that data was changed to read correctly. He didn't have any dates for it however the stone does have some - am not sure that I have them recorded correctly so you might take a look at that and let me know what you think. On Ennis, you might see some of the stones turned the wrong direction as you cruise through the Ennis files. I am sorry to say that I will have to wait for my FTP server to come back on line before I can change those around. It has been down all day today and most of yesterday and so that really slows things down. Anyway once it is back in working order I will change all of the stone photos that are upside down or sideways to the correct viewing position. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/cemetery/ennis-ennes/ennis.htm It feels good to say that we are getting close to getting this one on the web!  So what is next? Phyllis Long sent several updated stone photos for King Cemetery and I have Roller at Garfield that Wilma Fields did some time back that I will work on next. My feathers were ruffled a bit I was looking at web today at World Com and see that we still have some folks who guess at their Barry County genealogy, but maybe that will change someday - if they ever figure out that we have obits, death certificates and stone photos on line and have documented work. Ah, me, nuff said!  Donna Cooper

    1. [MOBARRY] School Photo
    2. Donna Cooper
    3. List Readers, we have a nice new school photo on the web site today. Thanks goes to Tracy Knoettgen who submitted a photo. Since Tracy didn't know what school it was I have examined the building and have posted it as a Gunter photo. If you see that this is incorrect please let us know.  ----------------- Tracy says that this a group school picture of my Grandmother's class. Ardith "Aline" Henderson Brown. I don't know which school but it would have been in or near Purdy. On the back it's written 1927 - 1928. I think Aline is on the right of the girl with a tie and her brother Evan is second on the right of Aline. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mobarry/School-Book/Gunter/1927-28GunterSchool.htm Donna Cooper

    2. That is correct: The County Court Since the War begins on page 52 of Goodspeeds, and on paged 53 it states: "In My 1866, a special term of xcourt was held, with John Carney presiding; L P Stringer and G W House, associate justices; J P Raney, sheriff and G L Carlin, clerk. Ath this time John W Boone, superintendent of the county buildings, reported that John H Moore had completed repairs on the courthouse.
