OBITUARY of GEORGE TURLEY -Missouri Statesman - Oct 20, 1854 - Whereas it has pleased the Great Patriarch of the Universe, in his allwise and overruling providence, to remove from our midst our esteemed brother, George W. Turley, ESP. one of the oldest citizens of our village. He became a member of Mexico Division soon after its organization and remained a member until his death, which occured on the 6th of October, 1854, at the age of 40 years, Therefore, Resolved, 1. That we bow in humble submission to the will of our heavenly father in the present dispensation of his providence. 2. that we cherish the memory of our departed brother in our hearts in testimony of which we will wear the usual badge of mourning in our order for 30 days. 3. That we tender our heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved friends of our deceased brother and that our R.S. present them with a copy of these resolutions and forward a copy to the "Missouri Statesman" for publication.
