Again, M. Mallory, thank you very much. The 49 years of age of A. H. Walden in the 1860 census matches with the birthdate of 1811 which I have in may records. I have his wife listed as Mary Jane Steel; however, it is entirely possible that she could have been the mother of Mildred Walden and subsequently passed away. I do have an unidentified Mildred Walden with another Walden family in VA. The listing of children and their ages match pretty well with my records, except I have Julia born 1859 instead of India. Something there to work on. I do believe this is my Aylette Rappahannock CO, VA. Thomas Walden was one of the five sons of John Walden of Caroline CO., VA. I am very interested in determing if Aylette Walden's son Thomas was named Thomas Alexander Walden born in 1868. If so, his male descendants may have an excellent paper trail if they would be interested in participating in the Walden DNA project. With regard to the Waldens who were born in KY, it is my belief they are the descendants of a William Walden and Sarah Hampton of VA, through son Joseph and Rachel Noe who came to Woodford CO., KY. They remained in KY for a period of time, then migrated to MO. This group is also participating in the Walden DNA which shows the two groups to be unrelated, which is disappointing because they seem to have taken much the same route from VA to MO. You are to be commended for the help you have provided. I truly appreciate all the information you have been willing to send. Thank you very much. Eldred W. Melton
I think you are right. On re-examination of the 1860 census of A. H. Walden's family, the child named "India"? is probably Julia - just a little difficult to read. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
