Charlotte, Since I am following slave ancestry -- I am seeing that there is a Nesbitt/Wilson connection in Boone Co., wills and administrations and also in Callaway Co., MO. It appears to me that the Nesbitt family has a connection to the Wilsons in Bourbon Co., KY via Millersburg. In the Boone Co., records there is a Nathaniel W. Wilson who is the administrator for the estate of William Nesbit. for August 7, 1837 A closer review of the Nesbit & Wilson connection includes ties to the McClelland family, Moss & Bryant. Callaway Co. records include a listing for: the last will of John Nebit, daughter Alice McClelland, and daughter Mary Nesbit. Wife Jane Nebit, children: Thomas, Alice, John M. Benjamin, Mary and William. probated Sept. 20, 1847 -- exectr., son Thomas Nebsit. References are made in the Boone Co., records to the Nesbits in Callaway... there is a WILSON connection handling the estate payments -- which leads me to believe there is some sort of family tie. I have been putting the pieces together of the Johnston, Hutchinson, Hickman family from Ravenswood that came from Bourbon Co., KY -- and I am bumping into these Nesbit, Moss, Bass, Bryan and McClelland connections and I'm trying to make sense of them via following slave transactions. My ancestors [some of who carried the Wilson name] ended up on Ravenswood in Cooper Co., MO via William H. Johnston. A review of William H. Johnston's family reveals a connection to William Hutchinson, Morgan Bryan, Eli Bass, Shackelford and a number of other Kentucky players who came to Missouri.. The Nesbit data just popped up. For William Nesbit.. Nathaniel Wilson is the administrator of his estate. Heirs are Mary Nebsit, Eliza Branhan, Thomas Nesbit, John, Joseph and Mary W. Nesbit of Boone Co., and Nancy Waller of Bourbon Co., KY for another Will for Lucian Wilson.. Sarah Bryan McClelland is mentioned -- and I know she has tied to the Nesbit family as well via the Moss, Thomas and Hickman families. I'm sorry I can not be more specific.. other that to say -- that I suspect a connection with your Audrain folks.
