William B. Evans and his wife Martha Unknown, moved to Mexico, MO a. 1835, from Granger Co., TN. Originally bough land in and near Mexico. They had children, George Carl Evans, Mary Evans, Robert Evans, unknown daughter Evans, Harriet Evans, Mariah Evans, Adelade Evans, William Evans, and a grandchild, William B. Evans, who was subsequently stolen away by the grandchild's natural father, Joseph Looney. Wm.'s son George Evans married Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Simms, in Audrain Co. on March 7, 1847. In the 1860 census, both Wm. B. Evans and his married son George C. (Carl or Carroll), had moved to Mercer County, MO.
