Looking for the 'Clayton Cemetery' in the SE corner of Audrain County (or SW corner of Pike Co, or northern part of Montgomery County-close to Middletown). Could be small privately owned burial ground. My great grandmother Clara Cotlander was buried there in 1912. Could it have changed names ? Who or where was the undertaker during this time ? The service was conducted by Rev. C. Pearson Lovelace. Thanks for all leads and time spent. Jo Ann Hunter Gippner
A post on the ancestry.com Audrain Co. message boards states that the Clayton Cemetery is the Field-Fikes Cemetery. I include the first sentence of that post below. "After reviewing the 1877 Audrain Co Plat Book and a more recent 1997 version, it appears that Fields-Fike Cemetery was known as Clayton Cemetery for about the time frame of 1860's to the 1910's." --- Jo Ann Hunter Gippner <jograndma@prodigy.net> wrote: > Looking for the 'Clayton Cemetery' in the SE corner > of Audrain County (or SW corner of Pike Co, or > northern part of Montgomery County-close to > Middletown).
