Need help I have this from "Vandalia Leader," 26 July 1901 Thursday #33, L.C.Reel died at his home southwest of town Saturday. The remains were interned in Vandalia Cemetery Sunday. He had been a great sufferer for the past two years or more the result of an injury. He leaves a wife and several children. L. C. Reel was my great grandfather, Lewis Crawford Reel. Family stories claim he was a one-armed thresher. I have a copy of a letter written by Minerva Mulherin Reel his wife, postmarked 4 Feb 1897; in it she mentions Lewis as being ill but able to get up today. Their child, Sally who died 26 Jan 1897, funeral was preached at the house. I am trying to find out when his injury occurred and what his occupation may have been.
