Janice and Hans, I forwarded your info to my dad, who grew up in Martinsburg, MO. See his info in the message below. I hope it helps. ~ Rob Vomund -----Original Message----- From: Les Vomund [mailto:levomund@vomund.com] Sent: Thursday, November 18, 2004 4:14 PM To: Rob Vomund Subject: Re: [MOAUDRAI] StephenWinkelman/AnnaBrinker family early 1900s Rob: I hope you didn't make any bets that I wouldn't know any of the names in that e-mail. The Brinkers and Winlelmans were (and I guess still are) well known families in Martinsburg. I knew some of them who were about my age and the older generation too. Rose Mary married Edmond Farnen: I knew both of them. They had three daughters, Rose Mary, Jean and Kathleen, who went through school with me and also a son, Kevin.. Kathleen Farnen was in my class and was at the reunion you and I attended in 1998. Her name is now Kathleen Fecht and now lives in Kansas City, MO. Incidently, Ed Farnen married my Aunt Pauline after his wife Rose Mary died. My cousin Linton Vomund and his wife Pauline now live in the house formerly occupied by the Farnen family when I was a teenager. I also knew Isadore Winkelman quite well. I think he was the first one in Martinsburg to have an airplane, a Piper Cub I believe. He used the cow pasture on his farm as a landing field. I don't think he ever married. There were several Brinker boys, Leroy, Elroy, Johnnie, and Vince that were a little older than me and a girl Betty. Anna Winkelman (Brinker) is listed on page 101 Roster of Families of the Souvenir of Martinsburg, MO 1926 that you included in your Vomund Family Tree Book. I have a Martinsburg church book published in 1991 that lists 5 Winkelman families and 3 Brinker families with their addresses and phone numbers.
