Wilson settled in Audrain Co. around 1834. Let me know if we have any ties.... Below is an excerpt from the "History of Audrain County" that was sent to me from the AudrainCounty Historical Society. "Moses Wilson married Mary Russell, of Virginia, and settled in Boone County, Kentucky. They had John H., Sarah, Martha, William, Elizabeth, Samuel,Susan, and Chrine. John H. was asoldier in the War of 1812. He marriedSusan Simmons, and settled in Audrain county, Missouri, in 1834. They had Sally, Martha A., Esther, WilliamW., Mary, Joseph R., Susan C. and Samuel M." John H. Wilson Based on cemetery recordsforwarded from Audrain County, Missouri, and from personal observation, John H. Wilson, my great-great-grandfatheris buried in the Berea Cemetery in Audrain County. Records indicate that he died on March 24th, 1872 at the age of 86 years, 5 months, 10 days. John H. moved to Missouri in 1834 after fighting in the War of 1812. I was able to find some additional information in a book entitled "Audrain Centennial History" According to this information, John was a native of Meade County, Kentucky, fought in the War of 1812, and ran one of the first steamers down the Mississippi River. John and Susan Simmons Wilson had a daughter named Mary ( b. 1827, d. 1902). Mary married a man named William Jamison Berry, a native of Virginia. William and Mary had a son named Robert W.Berry. Dr. Robert W. Berry later became a practicing doctor, county coroner, health commissioner, and later mayor of Mexico, Mo. from 1932 to 1934. "Dr. Robert W. Berry, mayor of Mexico from 1932 to 1934, was for long prominent in public affairs of this city, and of Audrain County, and was continuously engaged in the practice of medicine for more than a half a century. He was widely recognized as one of the leading physicians, and influential citizens, of his section of the state. Dr. Berry was born in Audrain County, on September 28th, 1861, his parents being William Jamison and Mary Wilson Berrey, natives of Virginia and Kentucky, respectively. The father, born in 1817, died in 1899, and the mother, born in 1827, died in 1902. James and Elizabeth Finks Berrey, paternal grandparents of Dr. Berrey, were Virginia plantation owners, and his maternal grandparents, John R. and Susan Simmons Wilson, were natives of Meade County, Kentucky, his grandfather, who served in the War of 1812, running one of the first steamers on the Mississippi." John H. Wilson had three sons, William W., Joseph R., and Samuel M. Wilson. Joseph R. married Elizabeth A. Glass. The exerpt from "Historyof Audrain County" indicates that "The father(Joseph R.) was arelative to Hon. R. P. C. Wilson, of Platte county, a distinguished lawyer and able State Senator of that section of the State." Going on, Joseph R. and Elizabeth A. (Glass)Wilson resided in Vernon County and had thirteen children, nine boys and four girls. The eldest son was named John H.Wilson, same as grandfather John H. Wilson, was reared in Audrain Co before relocating in Platte County. John married a Susan M. Threlkeld, of Monroe County, on November 25th, 1875 and raised livestock and farmed his entire life in the Salt River township. They had at least four children, Omar G.,Lula B., Mary G., and John C. Wilson (died after living about a month). I hope this information can help..Stay in Touch!

Is there someone in Mexico who can search deed records at the courthouse for me? I'm looking for the purchase of land by John D. McClintock, probably around 1858-60, and its subsequent sale after his death. His will was not probated until May 1882, in Kentucky, and I'm assuming the land was sold reasonably soon after that date. David R. Hoffman PO Box 247 Harrisburg, PA 17108

This Morning I informed you of a concern we all should have regarding protecting ourselves against BADTRANS worm, computer virus.. I would like to ask you now if you have any additional comments regarding the subject, you send them to me personally. KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. Please do not post the names of those you feel you have received infected postings from or their e-mail address. Dear List Members We are experiencing another outbreak of the BADTRANS worm, computer virus. I've received over 25 messages with it myself this weekend. The subject line will be varied but the infected attachments have a double extension, for example .doc.pif or .doc.scr You can go to http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/ or http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/ to obtain more information. Please keep your anti virus software updated and DO NOT download unexpected attachments no matter who they are from or how tantalizing the subject line may be. "The Docs I Promised" just may be the virus. I apologize for breaking my own rule regarding Virus Warnings, but felt in this case it was important that you were aware. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

On December 4, 1619, 38 settlers and local natives held a Thanksgiving day at the Berkeley Hundred Settlement as instructions of the London Company had ordered prior to their sailing, to be observed perpetually. I am seeking a birth lookup for my g.grandmother Nancy Hurt. According to census records she was born in 1843 in MO and her parents (unk) were both born in KY. She married Edward FITZPATRICK in 1843 (place unk). Edward was born in Ireland. They lived in Audrain Co.,MO and she bore 12 children of which 8 were alive in the 1900 census of Audrain Co.,MO. She died between the 1900 census and the 1910 St Louis census which shows Edward FITZPATRICK widower in the household of his daughter Kate MAHON, who was a widow at that time.
