Thank you, thank you, thank you. My great grandmother, LaFon Bourn Moss, married a Mears (2nd husband) sometime in the middle or late 1880s. She lived in Hartford. I never had a name for him beyond Mears but hoping that Reuben may be his father or another relative. (Family feud -- long story). There may have been a half-sister to my Grandmother -- Kate Moss -- also. I have not found any other records that match up and am unable to trace her death without Mr. Mears name. I believe they may have been in California and I vaguely recall having heard the name Reuben. So I am most delighted with your reply. Lafonne Jennings Taylor
