Hello fellow listers, I am willing to host a chat room for discussions concerning Adair county history and genealogy. I have done this already with one particular line in my family tree and it is getting a good response. Those interested would probably meet once a week in a password protected channel. I know that many are leery of chat rooms on the internet and with good cause; however, I have set things up so that we all will be protected from any of the foolishness that can happen. Everyone would be required to register and choose their own password to keep anyone else from logging on under their user name. The channel then would be password protected with a password of my choosing that would only be given to those interested in Adair county for genealogical purposes. I run the server and it is going 24 hours, 7 days a week so it can be used by any registered users, whether I am able to be there or not. It is a very simple program to use and the software is free to download. Even though my roots are in Adair county, I live in Oregon which seems like on the other side of the world at times. It would be wonderful to have some of you who seems to have tons of knowledge host some of the discussions and if you are interested in that aspect please let me know.
