    3. Dottie Hinrich, I have seen the Shoop surname in and around Novinger and Kirksville. I believe some Shoop owned a clothing bussiness in Novinger. I just saw an ad for it recently for sale on ebay. The Adair County web site http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair has a page for just the sort of information your asking for: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/resources.htm You will also find cemetery listings: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/cemeteries3.htm Some Censes: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/census/censusACMO.htm Pictures http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/pictures/adair-pictures.htm and much, much more ...... I hope the above and following information will be helpful for you and others researching in Adair County. Best wishes, Claudia Minor _______________________________ Why not join the Adair County Historical Society? I am looking for info on my probable great great grandfather Andrew Madden who was born in 1795 in Maryland. He was enumerated with his daughter Margaret and her husband Philip Shoop in Ninevah in the 1880 census. I have contacted the courthouse to see if there would possibly be a death record for him but there isn't. I am hoping to find a church where they would have worshiped and then records and hopefully a cemetery. I would also like to obtain information about your historical society, what days it is open and hours of operation. >From census records I have found that Margaret and Philip Shoop were married in Pennsylvania because their first 2 children were born there with the balance born in Missouri. I also believe that Andrew Madden's son Andrew who was born 1831 in Pennsylvania may have also moved to Missouri. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and I know it will make my short trip much more productive. Thank you, Dottie
