Hello List, My great grandmother MARTHA ELIZABETH WILLIS born abt 1877 in Missouri. She was said to have been 1/2 Indian and Irish by my grandmother Mamie Saner Stokes and her sister Effie Saner Butler and Effie's daughters recent letters to me. They are in their late 80's and still as sharp as tacks. We have nothing befor Martha's Mrg Lic. records to William SANER at the age of 12 yrs, 9mths, in 1889 Adair Co., Missouri. She was under the guardian ship of Wms father Jacob Saner. Why??? Where were her parents? Also the 1900 & 1910 Adair, Missouri Census gave us a bit more info. She died in 1911. I have the 1880 census Cd's & looked for WILLIS of any spelling in MO. who might have been from Ireland/England with a 2-4 yr old Martha or Elizabeth and a Indian wife but no luck. Looked for any Martha's in that age group but didn't find her as the oldest child as was told she was by grandmother Mamie. I then looked for any Martha's 2-4 yrs old. Nothing felt right. What I need is for someone to politely tell me where to go !! and look next. Web or LDS films. Iowa? No mention of that state for family untill later in 1910-1920. Thanks Cheryl in Idaho
