Hi Lists, I just found a note in my files that list a JOHN CRABTREE, b. Apr. 07, 1786 VA. Brother of WILLIAM HUMBERSTON WHEELON CRABTREE. With a name like that, how can we miss ? Anyway, my real interest is in John's wife WINFRED (or Winnie) GILSTRAP, b. Aug. 12, 1796 in NC, daughter of BENJAMIN. JOHN & WINNIE CRABTREE were married Sep. 24, 1812 at Wayne Co. KY. They resided at Putnum Co. MO. prior to 1870's. I have seen the name GILSTRAP associated with the name GILSON of who I am descended from and who also lived in Putnum, Co. MO in the late 1870's. My G-Grandfather JOHN GILSON, b. 1814 at Columbiania Co. Ohio, had moved to Putnum Co. MO. for a short time and soon moved to Adair County where he is listed on the 1880 Adair Co. Census.
