Hi Annie, In 1988, the Adair County Historical Society was clipping and saving only those obituraries for those buried in Adair County. The chances are then, that the local paper contains an obituary for Elizabeth (Rodhouse) Stark. As a fund raiser, the Adair County Historical Society will look up obituaries from Adair County newspapers on microfilm for a fee of $10 (and I think a stamped, self addressed envelope). Thanks so much for your reply to my request for an obit lookup. This sounds like a wonderful fund-raiser, and I'll keep it in mind for future research. However, as I probably should have mentioned in my original request to the list, Elizabeth Rodhouse Stark was not buried in Adair County. She was from Pike Co., IL, and is buried there. I'd nevertheless be willing to pay the $10.00 to have the Historical Society or a private party look up her obit for me. I'm not sure how long she lived in Kirksville; so am not certain that there would have been an obit in the local newspaper. But, if there was, I'd like to have a copy. Another person who responded to my request suggested that I ask the state archives personnel to do this lookup, so I think I'll try that first. Meanwhile, thanks so much again for your response, and I'll keep your suggestion in mind for future obituary lookups that I'll mosly likely be needing.
