    3. Karen, I know this is a long shot, but I have a group of photos that I have no idea who the people are or how they're related. Some of the photos had names written on the back. Some have the Stewart and Price surname. If you would like to take a look and see if there is a connection to your family, the photos are located here: http://www.loricamper.com/coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=6&page=1 Lori Camper At 07:59 PM 01/07/2008, you wrote: >The above brothers settled in Adair County by the 1860 census and stayed >there until they died. >Thomas J. 1. [MOADAIR] Descendants of Thomas J. and William A. Stewart
    2. Karen Conroy
    3. The above brothers settled in Adair County by the 1860 census and stayed there until they died. Thomas J. (1809-1883) and William A. (1822 to 1900) were the sons of Charles Stewart b. 1777 and Mary Price and born in Kentucky. Thomas had one son William S. born in 1842. who died in 1917. Thomas had four sons--Addison, Reese or Reason, Ellis, and Moody. Son no. 1 Addison was born in 1864 and had a son Lawrence born in 1888 who had a son Robert born in 1920. Addison also had a son named Addison born in 1915. Son no. 2 Reese or Reason was born in 1869 and had three sons--Wesley born in 1891 (who had a son Wesley E in 1912),William in 1892, and Reese in 1913. Son no. 3 Ellis was born in 1883 and had three sons--Lester in 1902 (who had a son Raymond in 1928), Frank in 1905, and Harley in 1910. Son no. 4 Moody was born in 1885. William A. had two sons. Son no. 1 John Thomas was born in 1846 and had one son Ole W. born in 1879. Son no. 2 was Richard Carlisle born in 1854. He had sons Charles E. born in 1876, Walter O. in 1880, Chester O (known as Orville) in 1883, William in 1891, and Amon in 1896. I have gathered the above from the censuses so could be wrong about dates of birth and some relationships. If anyone is related please get in touch. I am a descendant of William Stewart (1766-1853) who is possibly the brother of Charles Stewart (b. 1777). They both married Price sisters in Harrison County, Ky. Karen

    3. Lee, The name "Nabo Dio" is listed on page 287 of the First Hundred Years 1879 - 1979 Novinger, Missouri among the members of the Italian- Tirolese Society that was charted in 1904. 3. Hello, I hope this does not violate the rules of this message board. I was wondering if someone had access to the book "The First Hundred Years 1879 - 1979 Novinger, Missouri" and would do a look for me. My ancestor Dio (Dionisio) Nabot is listed in the index of this book. This is the first time that I found any connection with Adair County, MO. as he spent most of his time after coming from Italy in SE Kansas and Oklahoma. Dio Nabot is listed as being on page 287. If nothing else I would be grateful to know the reason he is on the list (i.e. marriage, immigration, directory, etc.) Thanks So Much, Lee Ralph

    1. [MOADAIR] Thompson - Harlan families
    2. These are not my lines, however, I was doing research for friends and I do have some info on the Harlans. Cynthia married to Wm. Thompson is the lines I was working on for them. Please contact me off line, if you are interested. Jean [email protected] ************************************** Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. 3. > I > also have some Harlans from TN & Randolph Co, MO. in my database. Harlan? I have a Cynthia Harlan, born about 1846, married to William Thompson. Because Thompson is the line of my research, I have no parents for Cynthia, and have recorded little else. Is she in your database? As to the Sloan line, I have corresponded with Harold and we are very distant cousins. My Sloan interest is the family and descendants of Columbus James and Rebecca (Thompson) Sloan. Anyone else? Elizabeth Richardson

    1. Re: [MOADAIR] THANKSGIVING GUEST
    2. I have David E. Sloan's pedigree and descendancy and will copy it for you if you don't already have it--not including the Lightbody and Hartman lines. I also have some Harlans from TN & Randolph Co, MO. in my database. I haven't heard that Sloansville was a possible town name; just that Kirk "paid off" the surveyors to name it after him. You can research Adair Co slave records and you might find that David was a slave owner. As I understand it, Adair Co. had one foot in the Union and one in the Confederacy and some number of people (unknown by me) did own slaves. 1. [MOADAIR] THANKSGIVING GUEST
    2. If ever there was an ancestor that I would to talk to it would be DAVID E. SLOAN (1791-1842) of Adair County, Missouri. My question for him would be, is it really true that the "KIRKS" had a feast for the men doing the surveying for the town that we know of today as Kirksville? As history books say it was going to be Sloansville. Question number 2, did you really own some slaves? David E. Sloan is my Great-great-grandfather. Would like to hear from some "SLOAN COUSINS," Harold Harold & Ruth Hartman Lightbody Researching: Lightbody, Sloan. Yates, Soper, Hartman, Fussner, Ticknor, Standish, Thompson, Harlan and a lot more. www.lightbodylegacy.com **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
