The request for mrg lookup for Gaddy-Gaddie's had me remembering I have a copy of the Adair Co., Mo., Mrg records 1841-1870 compiled by Elizabeth Prather Ellsberry copied at LDS FHC in Salty. I can do some lookups if the persons wanting them are NOT IN A HURRY for the information. I only have Tuesdays to do genealogy sooo..... I could find no Gaddy/Gaddie in Adair mrg records. Sorry Cheryl Stokes Krajnik Idaho Family names: Buckallew, Ledford, Saner, Stinson, Stokes. Stuck at ggmom Martha Willis-Wilds, and ggpaAbe Wheeler

I am seeking information on Laura Belle Foglesong Abbott, born 20 Mar 1880 in Missouri. She married my great grandfather, Ruben Elmer Abbot on 21 March 1897 in Glenwood, Schulyer Co., Missouri. She is listed in the 1910 Federal Census For Adair County, Missouri and is living with Ruben Abbott. I cannot find her in the 1920 census so I assumed she died sometime after July 4, 1914 when Carl Veste Abbott, the youngest son was born. In 1920 Ruben is living in Centerville in Appanoose Co., Iowa. I would like to find the date and place of death along with the burial location for Laura Belle Foglesong Abbott. She is my great grandmother. Merrill V. Jordan

Hi all, I am new to the list and I am working on one of my brickwalls. My husbands ggrandparents were William Hall and Jessie Lillian Carpenter. This is the info I had to start with William Hall b. 1868 d. 1919 md. Jessie Lillian Carpenter b. 1884 d. 1962 children Danilel J. R. Hall (Riley) b. Oct 24,1913 Adair Co., Mo. d. Feb. 1977 Joliet, Will Co., Ill. Aurellia Marie Hall ( Marie) b. Oct. 26, 1918 d. June 1, 1980 Ill. Then yesterday I found out by serching the websitefor mo. death certificates, that they had another son, William Earnest Hall b. Jan 13, 1912 Adair Co., Mo. d. April 30, 1914 Adair Co., Mo. I also found ot that William was born in Cleveland, Ohio and tha Jessie was born in Bremer Co., Iowa. Then today I was going through the Adair Co website and started going through the census info. In the 1920 index I found family #38 Aurela, Jessie L., Leni, Riley and William. Now this raises more questions. When did William Actually Die? Who is Leni and when was he or she born? Then I found a William W. Hall buried at St. Mary Cemetery in the cemetery surname index, he was born in 1868 and died in 1942. Is this my William?? I am so confused!!! Does anyone have access to the 1920 Adair Co., census that can look this info up for me? Can anyone conect to this family? Is william W. Hall in St. Mary Cemetery my William? As you can see, I am in desperate need of some help. If you can connect would be more than willing to share what information I have on this family with you. If just able to help, I would forever be greatful. Look forward to hearing from everyone and trying to help everyone else tear down their brickwells whenever I am able to help. Hi I just saw an email sent to you asking about the churches in Adair Co. I would also like to know about this too. I have talked to you on several occasions and you have been a big help to me. My grandmother Ora Maud Goucher married Bert Hall in Collensville, Adair co.1904, and my Mother Rebecca Isabelle Hall (Rea Bell) was born there in 1906. There was a child that died also and buried in Novinger cemetery. I understand the court house burned down and I do not know if I can get a birth certificate on my Mother. She tried years ago but was not successful, but I thought by now there might be some records. If I knew which churches were around at this time they might have some records. I am also trying to find where my G. Grandparents Goucher were buried there. I hope you are able to help me. I bought the two books about Adair and Novinger you told me about, but I could only find one G uncle in the books and no one else. Any help you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks Pat Bentine [email protected]
Hello, It's me again and I have another question for the group. I have been trying to think of everything possible before I leave on the 27th and wonder if anyone could tell me if there would be a specific church affiliated with the Novinger cemetery and if not, would there possibly be a list of churches in that area in about 1880? Once again many thanks and I'm so excited to possibly break through my last big brick wall. It has only taken 30 years and a bit of luck. Dottie Hinrichs
Hello list, I want to thank all who sent such wonderful information about the people I am researching and the number of suggestions of where to begin my research while in Adair County. Just by following some of the suggested sites I now have a birth and death date for Andrew Madden, his daughter Margaret and her husband Phillip Shoop. I feel that I am well on my way to solving my problem and breaking through that "brick wall." Thank you again, Dottie Hinrichs
Dottie Hinrich, I have seen the Shoop surname in and around Novinger and Kirksville. I believe some Shoop owned a clothing bussiness in Novinger. I just saw an ad for it recently for sale on ebay. The Adair County web site http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair has a page for just the sort of information your asking for: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/resources.htm You will also find cemetery listings: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/cemeteries3.htm Some Censes: http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/census/censusACMO.htm Pictures http://www.rootsweb.com/~moadair/pictures/adair-pictures.htm and much, much more ...... I hope the above and following information will be helpful for you and others researching in Adair County. Anyone aware of what mines were operating in thew vicinity of Ninevah Township as of 1910? Looking for Daniel Pollock who worked as a miner at this time. I have the 1910 census record but trying to dig back and find out where in PA he was born. Thanks, Paul Wright -- Open WebMail Project (http://openwebmail.org)
