    3. Thank you Gary and Claire for your continued service to preserve Adair County history and make it available for family researchers! I want to add that the Adair Count Historical Society is having a membership drive. The Adair County Historical Society has the approval to place four historical markers on the courthouse square. The first one describes the Battle of Kirksville and was placed on the southeast side of the courthouse in '06. The second marker, Cyclone of April 27, 1899, will be erected on the southwest side of the courthouse in April '07. The third and fourth markers will be erected on the north side of the courthouse. One will be a history of Adair County and the other about the three Adair County Courthouses. ACHS hopes to have all four of these by late 2007. Each one of these historic markers cost approximately $2,000. The ACHS is accepting donations from members, non-members, service organizations and businesses. Any non-member who makes a $15 donation or more will receive a 2007 membership to the historical society. Any individual or organization who makes a donation of $1,000 or more will have the name inscribed on a plaque at the historical society. All donations are fully tax deductible within the limits of the law. With your membership you receive The Adair Historian, published in January, April, July and October and you are welcome to the Annual Meetings. The next event is our Spring Fling, Days Inn, Dinner - April 14, '07, 4:00 p.m. Program includes The Harmony Four. The Annual Meeting is at the Annex, October 6, '07, 4 p.m. Program includes Alex Primm: "Stub" the Lumberman. I/We would like to donate the following amount to the Adair County Historical Society Marker Fund: ( ) $1,000 ( ) $500 ( ) $250 ( ) $100 ( ) $50 ( ) $25 ( ) $15 ( ) other ______________. 3. Once again a BIG thank you for this site. You made me pay closer attention to the names in the Walnut Twp. 1900 census records. I have been going page by page through 4 counties in Missouri looking for two families. One of which several have tried several times to find for me, namely my grandmother and her parents and 2 siblings. I have been trying index wise for over a year to find her and to my delight they were found in Walnut Twp. I don't know how they are listed in the index but they were there. All are on file with the Adair County Historical Society. They can be obtained by mail at a reasonable price. Most of the persons indexed lived in Adair, Putnam, Schuyler, Sullivan, Knox or Macon counties, Missouri. The women are indexed by their maiden names and all marriage surnames, when shown. 3. Hi, Bud. My other lists have not been having any problems. And, unfortunately, even after all these years of my being a List Owner, I don't understand your questions. You asked, "Is there a problem with state/Tow confusion?" Since I don't have any idea what state/Tow confusion is, I cannot answer that. You also said/asked, "You are North east Central Missouri?" If you are asking about the MoAdair list, its original intent was Adair County and the NE part of the state. If you mean my husband's families, they were from Macon, Randolph, Chariton, Linn, and Adair counties.
