A couple of things to keep in mind: 1. Not all genealogy software works the same way. You need to know what software and version you have because what works for one may not work for another (found this out the hard way!) 2. Make sure to mark as private with your privacy flag option any living people before you do the export 3. Mark the names you want to export if it is only part of your file. 4. I find it safer to make a copy and then delete the names I don't want if I am sending more than deleting. I hope this helps!
