Did you know a hearty bunch of souls are floating down various rivers at this moment recreating the Lewis and Clark expedition. It began in Pittsburgh and caused some grumbling amid the voyagers when someone in that fair city called it the gateway to the West. A childhood friend of mine is amongst those boatmen. He is not happy that Pittsburgh would be even thought of as the gateway to the West. Maybe Pittsburgh might be considered the back door to the west?----Jim PS They look mighty "Spry" in their recreated uniforms for the trip. I've seen pictures.
