Thanks for the ideas shared. I too missed the dental floss idea. I'm suspecting it was used to pull photos from old albums? It's also great for sewing on buttons. After 40 years of marriage my husband and I have finally bought our first home and moved into it. I love old photos. I'm working on a wall of all family members who have served in the military...along with memoribilia. The oldest photo I have is a brother of my great grandfather who was in the Confederate army. I have one photo...Civil War era...showing my Brooks relatives on horses and driving a wagon. My father, and many uncles who served from WWII, Korean, and Vietnam eras. I have a photo of my brother in Navy uniform...Vietman era and also my my husband's brother and brother-in-laws... The latest photos will be one daughter who was in the Navy during Dessert Storm and a neice who is in the Marines. Has anyone ever ran across an Overton Byrd, or Thomas Byrd in the St Louis, Mo. area?(1814-1840) He married Martha Tesson. I'm wondering about old church records, etc. Barbara Byrd Researching: Anderson, Byrd, Brooks,Brannum, Floyd,Noland, Pinkerton, Sprinkles, Shockley, Stanley,Harris, Jones. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Dear Barbara, The St. Louis PUBLIC Library has lots of genealogical "stuff" available by email request and a great staff. http://www.slpl.lib.mo.us/libsrc/geneinfo.htm CAtholic church records are available at the St. Louis COUNTY library and through the Mormon church. Diane Shaw's Irish in St. Louis website has lots of links for info other than Irish. http://members.gtw.net/%7Eseamus/Irshnstl.htm Dave Lossos' website for genealogy has some church records for other denominations. http://genealogyinstlouis.accessgenealogy.com/ Georgia Barbara Byrd wrote: > Thanks for the ideas shared.
