Thanks to all who responded with suggestions for the old photos. I appreciate your help. By the way I tried the dental floss idea and if done carefully it works quite well. Joan
Dear Joan, ' I missed the dental floss idea. Could you tell us what it was? Georgia Joan T Kaemmer wrote: > Thanks to all who responded with suggestions for the old photos. I > appreciate your help. I have scanned thousands of my best photos and slides and saved them to regular CD's. That makes it easy to share photos with other family members and then the CD's can be played via a newer DVD player to the TV set in a slide show. We don't print out new photos anymore we just view our photos on the TV but if we wish to print one its easy. Also printing photos can be disappointing because if you are not using a good printer, ink and paper they can fade quickly. See this report by PC World http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,111767,00.asp Another method of capturing old photos or anything in print is to use your digital camera rather than a scanner. When I visit a genealogy library I always have my camera so I can take photos of whatever records I might find.
