PATTERSON, VICTOR; Parents, John Bonapart(e) Patterson and Louise KERN, Lived only in St. Louis area. Victor is named after a street. It seems the midwife scared the parents into believing that since he was not named by 7 months that the devil would get his unsaved soul. He was a very sickly child with having pneumonia 13 times before becoming a teenager. His father walked around the block and told the mother to choose between Victor and Sidney. His father JOHN may have had a name change. Family history says that he changed his name when a murder was committed in a rooming house and 2 men had very similar names. It is not certain what roll he played in this murder or if it is true. Nor is it certain what the name was or if it really was changed. Denise
