Jim, this is what I have on a Cassidy family. Taken from the St. John Catholic Church Book, in Clonmel, Sedgwick Co. Ks. Bernard Cassidy was born in 1849 in Ireland. Bernard and his sister emigrated to the U.S. and first settled in Illinois. Working for the railroad meant traveling around a great deal, and while in North Dakota he met his wife, Mary, who was born in 1865. Bernard was transfered to Minnesota and then on to Kansas where he and his family bought a farm west of Clonmel. The couple had six children:, Joseph, Nellie, Peter, Edward (my uncle) Mary, and Cecilia . bernard died in 1922 and Mary died in 1932. There are other Irish families living around Clonmel. And most of them came to Ks. from the Nolan Settlem, ent in Iowa, near Ottumwa. I told Bill some time ago that I would send him this and completely forgot it. Sorry about that. jackie
