James CURRY, born 1820 in Ireland, came to St. Louis in about 1854 with wife Ellen, daughters Ann, Isabelle and Ellen, sons James and John. A son Hugh was born soon after arrival. They had lived 10 years in Connecticut, having come from Ireland in about 1846. James disappeared; we suspect a boat disaster of some kind was involved, soon after arrival. Ellen, the mother went to work and the children were scattered out around St. Louis. The families of Ann, Ellen, John and Hugh remained in St. louis for a time.
