St. Louis North LDS Family History Center Seminar Series. Saturday, 6 September 2003; 10:00 AM Howdershell LDS Church in Hazelwood, MO A Case Study in Genealogy Research Using the Internet" by Fred H. Held Fred visited a HELD reunion on August 17 in Wright City. The family had been researched by some of the family, but only had information on one immigrant HELD, the names of his parents, and where they were from. When Fred came home he started using the internet and within 6 hours found that their lone ancestor had two siblings that also immigrated to Warren Co. He also found that the family had been well researched and the data were immediately available. In all there were 11 children. In addition, one family researcher had been successful in researching an almost complete pedigree for 4 more generations along both of the parents lines. Fred will discuss the tools and techniques to do successful genealogical research on the internet by duplicating this effort.
