    2. Karen, Since you were unable to find the family you were looking for in the 1860 City Directory I'd try checking the directory again for people who are listed as near neighbors in the census. You may be able to pinpoint the right street or even the exact address if it was a multifamily dwelling. I'd also look for your family a few years before and a few years after the census in city directories. I've had family members missed during a certain year but where they are found living at the same address both the year before and the year after. It may also be possible to determine pretty closely when the family arrived or left St. Louis.
