Hello all, I am looking for a Boxdoefer Genevive I think was her name. Her husband was Gottlieb Boxdoefer. I think the wife died early 40's and was buried at St. Mary's in Bridgeton. But wasn't that cemetery moved for the hiway or metro-link. If anyone finds any clues I would really be grateful. I am trying to find her burial site for a very old man who was her grandson, and he really wants to find her. He claims she saved his life as a very young boy, as he blew most of one hand off with a blasting cap. She made a tourniquet and kept him from bleeding to death, while help arrived. Thanks Rita Broeker
Have you tried contacting the Bridgeton City Hall? I would think they may have a record of a cemetery being closed and bodies being moved. It is worth a phone call. http://www.bridgetonmo.com/index.htm Here is information on the cemetery. It is still there. http://www.stlcathcem.com/stmary_history.aspx I did a search on the Catholic burial site for Boxdofer and Boxdoefer but nothing came back. It is still worth a try to contact them cemetery directly. Here is info on another cemetery across from St. Mary's. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/mo/county/stlouis/bmp-cem.htm And a listing of cemeteries in the St. Louis area http://www.stlgs.org/cem/cemloc-ac.shtml ----- Original Message ----- From: "RITA BROEKER" <gardenwench4@msn.com> To: <MO-STLOUIS-METRO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, August 09, 2003 10:09 PM Subject: [StL-Metro] Boxdoefer- early 40's > Hello all, > > I am looking for a Boxdoefer Genevive I think was her name.
