    1. [StL-Metro] Problems with Heritage Quest at SLPL

    3. I have been talking to personnel at the St. Louis Public Library about getting a pin number and getting into the site. Their customer service phone number was busy yesterday each time I called. Today, I spoke to some really nice folks who are going to follow up on the problems. The problem I encountered was this: - I wanted a pin number. The plan for the pin number was that the user enters ANY 4 digit number the first time he/she enters the site and continues to use that number afterward. - I tried that and after clicking on the log in button, the site responded by clearing both my card number and the pin from the web form. It did not allow me into Heritage Quest. I called the library again and had them try my number and they confirmed that the library card was active and that the site should have accepted the information I put in the form. They said they would return my call when they know what is wrong. I will pursue this problem until I get a solution, so hang on folks! When I have the answer, I will post it. This happened to me in both MS Explorer 5 and in Netscape 7. Diane Shaw Antonia, MO

    3. Diane, I just loged on St.Louis County Library into Special Collections and from there Heritage Quest and put in my library card number and right in I went with no problem. Maybe you need a card at the County Library in stead of the one downtown. I use enternet exployer and I am running Windows 98 2nd edition. Hope this helps you out somewhat Jan -------Original Message------- From: Diane Date: Friday, August 29, 2003 11:39:55 AM To: MO-STLOUIS-METRO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [StL-Metro] Problems with Heritage Quest at SLPL I have been talking to personnel at the St. Louis Public Library about getting a pin number and getting into the site.
