The official start of NGS GENTECH 2004 is today, Friday 23 January at the Millenium Hotel in downtown St. Louis. Since 1993, GENTECH has been THE national conference for people interested in GENealogy and TECHnology. Now, as a new division of the National Genealogical Society, NGS GENTECH will sponsor conferences that continue to meet the needs of advanced users and those new to using technology in research. At the Librarians pre conference day yesterday (Thursday) there were a large number of walk in registrations -- for the Librarians' meetings, the afternoon workshops and the remainder of the conference. It kept the volunteers scurrying to find enough tote bags to meet the demand (they found more, fortunately.) Today promises to be another busy day, so hurry on down. The program is posted at: www.eshow2000.com/ngsgentech/register_now.cfm or at the St. Louis Genealogical Society website: www.stlgs.org/gentech2004. If you can't join us today, come tomorrow (Saturday). There will be another full day of programs and events at the exhibit hall. As the song goes "Meet me in St. Louis..." for an exciting genealogy program. John Konvalinka, CGRS(sm), CGL(sm) NGS GENTECH 2004 Publicity Chair www.konvalinka.com
