One of the best things I did was to upload all of my wife's genealogy to RootsWeb her ancestors were from France and immigrated in 1852. After about a year she was contacted by a cousin living in France who recognized the names of her immigrant grandparents and was then able to provide family information back to the 1500s along with photos of the farm they left in France.
