Maps) The Moolah Temple was built in an Arabic and Moorish style of architecture in 1912. The 90,000 square foot building had been vacant since 1988. The renovation contains 40 apartments; rents range from $750 for a one bedroom to $1750 for a two bedroom with a den. Improvements also include a theatre, residential, and a bowling alley. A new parking garage directly behind the temple provides 850 parking spaces in a three-story facility on a 40,000 square foot parcel of land. The garage is designed to facilitate parking availability for both SLU persons as well as users of the renovated theater. The theatre is unique in that much of the seating is leather sofas with patrons choosing to bring in drinks from the bar.
