I recently found a "stray" McGOLDRICK who was working as a coal miner in Collinsville, IL. In researching him, I found that there were a lot of Irish workers in the mine! In my case, this fellow (Charles Mc GOLRIC) lived in St. Louis, then moved to Collinsville to work in the mine when it opened in the 1880's. I am sure there were many others as both St. Clair and Madison Counties had many. As far as I know, there is only one Catholic Church in Collinsville, Sts. Peter and Paul.
