In Saturday's (28 Apr 2007) Post-Dispatch on page A26 there is an article from London which states that the British government has a project whereby they will be posting online 3 million names of slaves held across the British Empire in the early 19th Century. The information will be taken from registers dating from 1813 to 1834 and will be made available online for free within the next year according to spokesman Simon Ziviani from Ancestry.co.uk. The database will be searchable by first and last name, island, plantation, age and sex. Gloria ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
